Facebook vs Hubpages vs Blogspot

Whenever I end up telling someone about hubpages, I try and explain it to them as a combination of facebook and a blog. I often think I leave the person more confused then when I told them, "I write on hubpages". What do you compare hubpages too? What do tell people hubpages is similar too?

Simple and straight to the point. I like it. It is just an interesting community and a lot of people wouldn't necessarily fall under that category. Some just participate in forums, read, and comment.

Very true. I think their problem is that since they have never done it, they try and lump it into one or the other category. Everyone has their own purpose here which makes the site that much more unique.

Not sure I would compare it to corporate America, but I understand where you are coming from with the "click" like atmosphere.

It might not be a facebook, but you can't ignore the huge emphasis on the social aspect of the site. Your right tho, if they care enough to know, they will ask or look it up.

Yea. I typically do end up saying something along those lines. No one I know, at least to my knowledge, has written on a site for money.
