To reach $50 every two months and to continue writing hubs. Hopefully, I can reach 200. But that's only if I focus and have time.

Six months ago, I started at HP.  I didn't know what I didn't know about writing on the internet.  I had writing experience... in the print world.  That's another part of the writing globe though!  Now that's I've suffered (yes, suffered) through some tough lessons about writing online, I feel great.  I'm making about $50 a month at HP and a few bucks a few other places around the net.  I plan to continue adding two hubs a month in 2013 to HP.  I am now writing on other websites and submitting pitches for online writing gigs.  I'm now reading everything I can on SEO.  I think between pitches getting me gigs that pay $75-150 each and getting what I've already written on HP up in rankings, I'll have a side income of $1000 a month by the end of 2013. First order of business - get rid of the old hubs that aren't serving me well... send them into retirement!

I need to prioritize and manage my time better by limiting the time I spend on hub activity, set goals for producing new hubs, and give more time to the business side of my private practice. Thanks for asking this question.

I've been here almost two years and have yet to reach a payout on over a hundred hubs. I came here for exposure and I never expected any pay for it, but I'm kidding myself if it doesn't bother me.  I need to get busy and study SEO and traffic. I need to take down articles not doing well. I need to focus on other writing places. I know my writing skills could stand some improvement, so I need to practice more often.  On the other hand I know I'm not a bad writer.  I have two diplomas for study courses.  I have written stuff people like.  I only need to find an audience.

I've been writing online since 2009, when I first began producing articles on Hubpages. From there, having been advised not to put all of my eggs into one basket, I've also branched out to begin publishing pages on Squidoo, Zujava and Wizzley as... read more
