LOL! You are not serious! Unless you have an amazing stroke of luck, forget that idea.

My friend unless you write SEVERAL hubs and have an outstanding understanding of SEO, this would seem impossible. Good luck!!

If you really want to use a revenue-sharing website like Hubpages, and not set up your own webpage, it is difficult. I think you are setting your goals too high but 250/week is reasonable.
Write a lot more hubs. I think you have to have several hundred (maybe 1000?)that draw good traffic, and to do that you need to have titles that people are searching for.
Alocsin just published a hub with a list of the top performers for November. You might try to ask someone who is making a lot more but I am not sure you will get a response.

Not to beat a dead horse, but I will just add you're unlikely to make more than minimum wage in your jurisdiction if you tabulate time spent:income and let this site be your "workplace."

Also, in order to earn $500 per week, you'd have to earn approximately $70 per day. I never got into how income is shared and what not, but I think 10% of advertisers' margin on sales (emanating from hubpages) trickling down to a hubber is a reasonable enough figure (pulled out of the air). So one scenario is people accept your authority and click on relevant advertisements. The advertisers make $20k gross profit  a mont from being associated with your articles and they in effect give you $2k, which is 10%. But then consider the margin on retail sales (let's say 20%); that is, they mark up products 20% from what it cost them before selling to customers.

Now, following along this scenario your hubs are helping your readers to spend in the neigborhood of $100k a month with companies. And you get $2k or 2%.

It's an interesting question how much the average hubber takes as a percentage of advertisers' gross margins. Perhaps someone will consider not the ballpark calculations but the framework for computations that lead to a determination of income and get something out of your question. I could be way off on the 2% figure, but the income setup/framework remains the same harsh reality 'buying' me ample cushion' to laugh  and wonder if other people have done some wondering before making their goals.

Thanks alot guys for your comments and for your useful tips. I will try to write more hubs so as to make a decent income from Hubpages; I will have a goal to earn 200 dollars per week. Is that possible too?

    (Clears throat)

I see this question a lot around here so this is my standard answer:

Unless you have absolutely nothing to do with your time but but write lots 'n' lots of Hubs (mind you said Hubs also have to be high quality, engaging and unique) and then have the ability to spend sixteen hours a day back-linking to them all over the internet to draw traffic to them, such a goal is most likely unattainable.

Realistically, you might earn enough to buy a 12 pack of beer (domestic, not imported) after about a year.

I'm not tryin' to piss in your Cheerios or anything, I'm just telling it like it is.

All I see is people telling you this is impossible and I think you can do whatever you set you mind to.  Having the commitment and the knowledge is the hard part.  While it is difficult, it is also possible.  However, you need to have valuable information about popular topics.  If you try to write about common stuff that a lot of people know about you probably wont be that successful.  If you write about interesting topics that not many people can bring incite and new information to, then you can make a decent amount of money.  There is no "easy" way to make money on Hubpages.  If you are looking for easy money then apply for brainless minimum wage side job.  You will make a lot more a lot easier.  I hope this helps...

Agreed that a solid understanding of SEO would be necessary to get a good, solid flow of organic traffic.

Having supported myself through adsense before, its possible but its rare. Its also just not reliable. People fall out of favor- I've seen people lose their houses, lifestyles etc because they became so comfortable with money from adsense and then had it revoked or just lost traffic because people tired of them. I think unless you really take off and are able to keep yourself relevant, i'd just keep your hubpage as nice "fun money".

Granted everything comes with a risk, and if youre a great writer and interesting then of course its possible. But...you would need at the minimum 200,000 views or so a week to get near 500/week

Also know that 1099 income is HEAVILY taxed- more so than traditional income. Youre going to need to claim it and theres no getting around it since its all recorded (I also know people who tried to stupidly hide it, terrible idea). Self employment tax, higher SS tax and medicare taxes, income and state etc.

It can be very comfortable and rewarding, but it wont be for most

If only I can do a dollar a day here that would be very awesome though right now I can only get cents and mostly 5-10$ per month. Its hard but so far if you get more featured and every green hubs having 100$-250$ is possible per month
