How's your experience experience been with HubPages?
I'm a blogger and recently started hubbing, there is a HUGE difference....I didn't realize that at first! I'd like to ask you about your experience here. Are you writing as a hobby, a form of income, or to expand your online presence etc.? I'm curious to know how you're utilizing your hubbing time....
What I like about Hubpages is the enormous interaction between the Hubbers - like my being able to sit down and write an answer straight off the top of my head to a question like yours. On Hub pages there seem to be an awful lot of really interesting people ranging from people just starting out in 'writing for fun' and those who, like myself, have been into it for years.
It's doubtful if any of us will make any really big money on Hubpages. I know I haven't. So I'd say forget about it as a money-maker. But if you just want to communicate with other people, it's the way to go.
There seems to be no restrictions on what you can write about, providing of course, you don't deliberately write stuff which offends.
I'm pretty sure you'll get a lot of answers to your question.
That is nice Tom, the interaction is different to me as I've mainly written on my blog. That is the huge difference to me, the community feel of HubPages. I'm writing for the love of it and to hopefully to become better.
I'm noticing the community vibe of the site myself and, I rather like it. I'm writing for fun. Also, for the experience to gain great info and hopefully become better. I'm usually blogging so the interaction is the biggest difference to me. Thus far, I'm really enjoying it.
It'd be a lie if I said that I didn't want to earn an income hubbing, because I do. I just wondered if anyone was able to genuinely generate an income hubbing about things that are passionate to them. Tunistala Tom, your comment was interesting to me, thank you for answering.
I write as a hobby, but am thrilled to be paid. I can practice my writing technique and not have to go through the pain of query letters and rejection from publishers. I love the fact that I can just write and perfect my skill, all the while receiving a paycheck!
That's awesome radiantwriting, I'm glad that your experience is going well! It's also promising to me as a new hubber.
I started writing just for fun. What I like about Hub pages is that I can write anything. I have written essays, poems, and Christian devotionals. It is interested to see what works and what doesn't work. Some of the things that I feel aren't all that great will often receive the most positive feedback. As for the money, I see a penny here and there, but I have mostly enjoyed meeting the other writers in our community.
for me it is exposure. I run a blog on another site and after 2 years I get around 3000 reads a month even though I "blog" only a couple times a month. Here I have been for almost a month and only have 50 "reads" total. Total dropoff for followers. I am going to keep going and judge this after about 6 months.

I'm currently trying to get my husband to help me write some hubs. I'm happy to type them up and edit them, I basically want his input on topics that I know nothing about - because the more topics you cover the more chance you have of getting a great niche. My husband is half won over on the idea I...

There's a significant percentage of Hubbers for whom HubPages is a writers' community first and foremost, and the loss of comments has shattered that community. While Samantha has said comments are "on the list" to be reinstated, realistically it's likely to be months (due to the upcoming...

You know, I see forum posts complaining about how the forums are boring or dying. I see people complaining about how there's all "Indian Aunties" hubs or picture hubs, how people don't edit, it's all marketing crap and nothing good to read... and then I find these amazing...

Just wondering! I have a lot of old poems (I no longer write poetry often though I once did). I still write a lot of stories... especially flash fiction.I could put my poems and stories here on HubPages... but my main motivation would be to make money. So tell me... do you make money with your...

It seems like you have to be involved into every writing for content scheme there is to make money off of your words. Is this a misconception that I have? Are you all into Hubbing or multiple blogging for revenue activities?

Hi everybody!I just joined this community yesterday in hopes of not completely wasting my winter break. I see that a lot of you have hundreds of hubs in place.. how long do you spend making them on average?I'm a full-time university student and really don't want this taking up too much of my time,...
