The featured hubbers with financial success earnings are all 2011. Why is this?

I was looking around and found a page with hubbers who have consistent financial success but all earnings reported are in 2011.

I have often wondered this myself.  The best I can come up with is that 2011 is before Panda and Penguin came out.  The ability to make money on the internet with seo was severely hampered, I also wonder if these same people are doing as well now.

I know that I don't make very much from Hubpages but I also see potential, and I like it, so I'm going to keep at it.

I don't know, ever since I have been on Hubpages, these are the only featured Hubbers I have so far seen!

I think TMHughes is correct, the amount of money being made on HubPages is not what it used to be before the Google Panda and Penguin updates.  It's really a shame because those updates were put in place to elminate low quality content from the Google search results, and very few Hubs fall into this category.

I joined HubPages shortly after the 2011 heyday, and heard a lot of stories in the beginning about people making $100s per month here, but those stories aren't being told much these days.  It would be nice to get an update on how some of these financial success story Hubbers are doing and adapting these days.  Perhaps some have left HubPages?

Well, I'm doing pretty well that way. But, there are many more who are getting loads of traffic. Use Alexa to take a look at the top trafficked subdomains (it's just an approximate as all views won't be recored there)

Probably because that was during their prime. I don't think they make as much now after the Goggle updates.

Well Google reduced the traffic that Hubpages received from Feb 2011 onwards so that in turn reduced the earnings that hubbers can make.

Its also only just 2013, so I am not sure success stores from 2012 will be out yet.

Honestly, they are probably the people making the most money still!

Myself, as of right now for this month, I am at $28. So, at this rate, that is a payout every month. It takes a long time to build up traffic/hubs to get that much - which is why I think they are the ones still making the most!
