If you were "in Charge" of HubPages what changes would you make?
I know that I would try to find a way to help writers make more money here!
I would put a search function within each person's profile page so that visitors could search for a specific topic within just one hubber's hubs.
Since everyone is complaining about traffic, I would certainly try to come up with a trick off my hat. Good traffic equals good money, regardless of the content that we have.
So besides "backlinking" what other ways would have to dive traffic to a site or hub?
I would have weekly/monthly awards given to each person who was voted for and could get the most traffic too their hub. I would find some other way of generating income for those who write on here. I would recommend the folks who are skilled in areas involving writing. SEO and structure of other writing styles be put into groups to learn the skill. The hubber you feel comfortable with to be like a teacher of sorts to those in the group. The group could have certain qualifications required to join. The hub teacher would get a certain amount of money for teaching by estimating how many are in the group and multiply the number of reviews they receive.
Good ideas and yet some of these things are done to a point at HP!
This leads to my second point. I noticed some of these HP are trying to gradually implement. My thoughts are why not expand on it? I mean if there is enough positive feedback. why not take it to the next level? Try it out and keep moving up! Ty
I would get serious about quality review. HP is not a community of "writers' but a community of some sort, a small part of which consists of writers.
I'd do two things:
1. Educate writers about SEO, make the native SEO and what HP adds to this more transparent, including some quantitative measures so that hubbers aren't just content cogs, but actually become vested in producing more organic traffic.
2. Start a volunteer coaching program for new and existing hubbers. Right now, there is the apprenticeship program, which is overbooked, the FAQ and Learning Center. It would be nice to get experts and novitiates together for some 1-on-1 tutoring. Not sure what the reward would be to the volunteer tutors, but it would save a lot of the re-inventing of the wheel that goes on here.

So I've been on Medium for a year and Hubpages for six years (my second time). I've come to the conclusion that they can benefit each other.I have twice now earned quite a bit more on hubpages as a result of an article on Medium. A few days ago, I posted a link to one one of my hubpage articles,...

Hi,I've signed up and am ready to start making hubs in my specialised subject, but I was wondering what the earning potential of hubbig (if that's a word) actually is. I realise it all depends on how attractive your pages are and how good they are etc, but what are people actually earning? I am not...
