What are some other places similar to hubpages that you've found more success on?

By success, I mean, traffic wise, money wise. I'm giving HubPages a 5-year try. However, if I'm not seeing any progress and not making more than 7 bucks a month, I have to take my work somewhere else.

I like you am giving it some time. But it has been very successful for me. If you type in my hubber handle you will find over ten pages on Google.

On a even more upbeat note, my official page view count for the last thirty days is 8,589,935,970 Even divided by my 200 hubs, that is a success.

I have of course copied that page and am sending it to potential employers.

It takes time to make money. I have two accounts and have been here for two years. I hardly made anything the first year. The second has been a huge improvement. I have about 200 hubs now and I'm adding more as fast as I can. I imagine once I've been here for 5 years that I'll be doing very well. Don't forget to use Amazon as well. I put Amazon products on almost every page and that's about half of my income.

Hubpages is the best in my view. Any other site you use will have the same issue. It will take time to build up the number of articles you have. It also takes time to build traffic. I have hubs that originally got only 1 or 2 visits a day for a long time that now get dozens. Google will give you more respect over time if you write well and often.

Though I love HP because my motive is just to write and not to earn. But if you have any inclination about earning from writing or publishing then try IndiaStudyChannel also. It is an Indian Lear to Earn, Earn to learn site for young students in India. The site works on a No Profit No Loss basis and distributes the earnings among members. Try your luck to make quick bucks.

I see you are an apprentice so you should start to see things move along for you.  I have seen a 100% increase in my hub earnings since last year - and although it's not paying much I am improving.  I think the "quick buck" does happen for a few but the long term will reap rewards in the end.  Good luck to you.  In my opinion hub pages offers quality and credibility that many others sites do not.

Why I forget to see the profile of the questioner before responding. I just reply honestly as if somebody is seeking advice. When I read your response I found how can I dare to advise an apprentice!

I like HubPages, but I'm enjoying creating and making lenses over on Squidoo. I've noticed that one needs to write more hubs and be more active to earn more here on HubPages. I'm trying to work on my schedule so I could write here more often. ^_^

I just get frustrated when I do put more time into writing on HubPages and my traffic seems to drop.

I like Hubpages best, but I've been here longer than anywhere else. I have learned that earnings have a lot to do with using the Google Keyword Tool. Going through my old hubs that don't earn money, I realized that I shouldn't have written half of them. There is so much competition for the keywords that even changing the title wouldn't work.

There are lots of other good sites out there, but some take getting used to after being here. Most don't offer all the options for publishing like we have. Others are just so different. When I say different, I'm thinking of Squidoo. I've heard that others are earning good money over there. I've started to write a bit there, so I can see what happens.

I began my online writing career by writing on six different sites: HubPages, Squidoo, Helium, Triond, Wikinut and ExpertColumn. I have limited my presence in some of these sites and terminated my account on two sites. I have found HubPages to be the best writing platform, you don't earn more money any where else. There are many earning opportunities on HP such as Adsense, HP earning, ebay, Amazon, Apprentince and last but not the least contests. On HP you can earn from your photos, videos and articles, which is not possible on many niche content sites.
