Is it HP's job to manage the overall Quality of our writings?

With all of the complaints about HP and their perpetual implementation of changes and restrictions on the writers content on their site, I was just wondering if this is a good thing. I need to remind everyone of one fact. HP is a business and if it doesn't make money, it will not be there for us to use. So, are these changes a good thing for us? Or, should we watch our favorite site die?

To Start Again- You summed the reality of the situation well. If you want to have a Quality site for your writings, You have to operate within Quality Control constraints. Thanks for the Answer.

I think it is a "something" as opposed to a someone and that is what bothers me the most regarding the judgment of content.
