Is it considered rude to correct a fellow hubber's grammar or spelling?

This has just been a question that has been rolling around in my mind. I see spelling and grammatical errors occasionally. Personally, I would like someone to point out my mistakes so that I can fix them and possibly learn from them. Does everyone feel the same way or will people get upset? The reason I ask is because I have a friend that gets upset when I try to correct him. Of course I'm not doing it to be mean or spiteful. I just feel as if correcting the little errors will help make the entire article better. Opinions?

Good gesture and in tune with the fine HP culture.

Robbie, thank you for comment! I agree and want people to correct me when I need to be. I really don't run into this problem much on hubpages. It is really more in my personal life. Some people can be quite touchy!

duffsmom, I completely understand! Style is something that should be left up to the writer and not criticized by others. While, there are finite rules about spelling and grammar.
