   Why doesn't HP allows writers to downsize a photo or clip art any more?
   
   I just changed an image on one of my hubs (both clip art) only to discover I can no longer downsize an image so that it's not too big--both for aesthetic reasons and to ensure it's not fuzzy. HP will complain if an image isn't the highest resolution, yet they've just forced me to place an image that's much too large for the hub and for its purpose!  Damned if you do...damned if you don't! That seems to be the HP mantra these days. Anyone else having a problem with this issue?

   When I enter photos and I downsize them to half-width or quarter-width I have no problem with it. Are you sure that you are doing it correctly?
   I do not think that I have ever tried it with clip art. Have you tried entering clip art under photos then links, etc., to see if it does the same thing?

      That's what I was doing until today. The "half-width" and "quarter-width" options were no longer there, so I had no choice but to leave a full-size image until I reorganized the columns. When I moved it to the side, it became smaller. Thanks!

      Did you try it today, and was it with a new hub or when editing a hub?  I edited a hub and removed an image. Ordinarily, when I remove one and choose another to replace it, the HP editing tool offers 3 sizes: full, half and quarter. Not today.

      When I originally answered I was still able to do so also but now I am not - have not for approx. 1.5-2 weeks. (?)
      I have tried it with old and new Hubs.

   I'm going to try and generate some interest in this question again because I don't think the HP Team singled me out regarding the size of photos and clip art on hubs. Here's the deal:
   1.  When adding capsules for a new hub, there are no longer the options for making a photo or clip art illustration half-size or quarter-size. This nearly always affects the resolution, whether the source is online or from my own photos.
   2.  Although my hubs are still featured, quite a few of them have notices to me that the photos are down-sized (because at the time I published them, the options for 1/2-size and 1/4-size existed). It's quite clear that these "not-up-to-standard" photos (the reduced size ones) are the reason for reduced scores for these hubs, because when I replaced some on one hub with acceptable photos, the score shot up.  However, I've spent an inordinate amount of time trying to find photos to replace the other smaller ones and can't find any that aren't pixilated when uploaded. This, of course, worsens the hub score. I've changed one photo four times, to no avail, and can't find anything with which to replace it that meets HP requirements.
   
   I can't understand the reason smaller-sized photo options were eliminated. Some hubs don't need huge photos that take up the full width of the screen or, if they're moved to one side, are still too large. This looks like another case of "change simply for the sake of change." At least, that's what I think until I learn differently. I sent an email to the HP Team asking about this situation, but no answer yet. For some reason, I don't think I'm on their list of favorites.
   
   If ANYONE is experiencing a problem with photo sizes--either with new hubs or when editing hubs to meet the new HP standards, please answer this question. By the way, if you ignore the "request" on your hub (up in the right-hand corner of the screen) to change the photo size, your score will go down. If you click on Edit Photo and then Save, your photo will automatically change to the full size.

      I should mention that I'm very technically-challenged, so if there's a way to reduce the size of an image found online or one of my own to avoid pixilation, I don't know how to do it.
