When the title of a hub is edited, can its original URL be changed to match?

I changed the title of an older hub to more accurately portray the contents, yet the URL is still the same original one that does not give a clue to what the hub's really about. If there is a tutorial about this (which I haven't found), will someone please direct me to it? If not, and you know how to accomplish this change, please tell me (simply, since I am technically challenged). Thanks!

Unless I'm mistaken, and that is always a possibility, the answer is no. I look forward to other answer, though, so don't take my word to the bank. smile

Gee...that was what I was afraid of, and I'm not happy about it. Thanks for the response, Bill.

No. If you want to change it, save your Hub (on something like Word) delete the old one. After the old one is definitely deleted, be sure on your new URL and transfer from Word to start a new Hub.

I was afraid it would require deleting and republishing the hub entirely (which I don't think should be necessary). It's too much trouble to do, at least at the present time. Thanks for your response.

      HubPages Team...can't you change this?

Another way is to transfer the Hub to another "start a new Hub" but do not publish it until the old one is definitely deleted.
By the way, I use the copy/paste to move it.

Hi Jaye, Bill is right in that it cannot be changed, and this answer does not help at all for your current question, but when I am naming each new hub I use something very generic, like "natural food pregnant dog" and then name the hub "How to use a natural diet to feed a pregnant or nursing dog". The URL does not need to be the same, and it does not hurt your page views if the URL is not the same as your title.
Anyway, since you might want to change the title to improve traffic, always pick a URL that reflects the general topic.

Thanks, Dr.Mark - That's a good idea for future hubs.  Jaye

no, the URL remains the same. It will not change even though you had changed the title.,

This has made me resolve to be a lot more careful in selecting my original title, which will become the permanent URL for a hub. Thanks for your response.
