Is it not funny to rate a hub as 'funny'?
Even if it is a serious hub. I'm surprised to see 'funny' as an option for rating even on serious hubs.
I think the only time to rate a hub as funny is if the hub is actually meant to be funny. Some could rate a hub as funny to try and intimidate someone they have disagreed with on a certain subject.
Sense of humor varies from person to person. Many years ago a movie was made to deter teens from smoking marijuana. It was called "Refer Madness". The movie was not a comedy and yet today it's considered cult comedy classic!
In other instances sometimes people mistake dead seriousness with sarcasm. They may believe the author truly does not believe what he/she has written and it was intended to be a witty piece.
Lastly as JThomp42 stated they may have marked it funny because they totally disagreed with everything you said.
Regardless of the fact every comment, vote up, or rating you get improves your over score for that hub.
A vote down would be worse than getting a "funny" rating.

Why do so many people skip rating a hub?

Dear HubTeam:I know there have been a few forum threads about this topic, but hear me out please. By the way, this thread refers to the rating down of hubs, not flagging. I have no problem with the flagging feature and see it as a necessary evil. Even if someone misuses it, they have to go through...

Can a rating capsule be used to rate a place (not a recipe) in a travel related hub?Hub page learning center has information about rating capsule, but it describes its use in a recipe hub. I am not sure if I can use this for a travel hub. Is HP review capsule is similar to Google’s rich...

Is there any way to tell if a particular hub has received any thumbs up or thumbs down, and if so, how many? I've been here long enough, I should know these things. But I don't.
