How do you stop your Hubber score from fluctuating? When I make a change it goes down. Does yours?

Thanks to several superb authors here on HubPages, I have started reworking my hubs.  These high ranking authors have been kind enough to show me how to improve my hubs and attract more readers.  I have started making changes to my hubs beginning with the titles and going capsule by capsule making improvements. My readership has increased, and comments are going up. My problem is I signed on, and my Hubber score had dropped from 92-88. Why would the editors do this? Very discouraged. I have hubs waiting in the wings, and I don't know if I should publish them. Any advice would be helpful. THX

That your Hub score goes down after you've published is a consequence of HP's algorithms.

As long as the changes in a Hub (or a new Hub) are still under examination, your score is as it were, temporarily parked to a different position. This temporary score is in line with the remaining Hubs that already passed the examination.

When the examination is finished your score will be changed in accordance with the quality of the Hubs.

    A few advices:
    - make sure all the boxes are checked: >1250 words, photos, table, poll, etc. (in editing mode)
    - Hubs are like wine. Edit them thoroughly and let them in peace then.
    - Try to publish your Hub in scarcely populated topics: http://hubpages.com/topics/tree
    - Don't edit too much Hubs at the same time.

BTW: what has the picture to do with this question? Were you trying to call Paul Edmonson?big_smile

My score goes up and down-- sometimes several times a day, whether I do  a lot of hub work, or something, or nothing.

What makes HP's algorithm difficult to track is that it has a time delay. Activity of a few weeks ago can still have effect, while you forgot what you did back then. Feedback to your Hubs also affects your score.

Rochelle thanks for your input. I just find it frustrating, as I have really worked hard to make my hubs better and my actual hub scores have really increased while my Hubber score goes down.

Thanks Missy, I am wondering if it causes any of the hubs to idle and not be pushed to google. I am so new to this it's hard to figure out. Blessings. Bobby

My hubber score fluctuates all the time. There is no set pattern to it. I don't know what to do because I have hubs that needed to be featured again as they become "not featured". What I did was to add something to it and tweaked it a bit then it became featured.

I have all featured hubs, and I keep tweaking them to keep their scores up. It takes away from my time to write. But, even with my scores up my Hubber scores continues to fluctuate. I am learning more about what to do do about it from buildingreps.
