What is the point to asking a question, but not be willing to accept diversity of opinions?

HubPages is the online community. As any community, it is strong when it has diverse opinions and points of views. We all have our core values and views that very fundamental to us, these values most of the times "non-negotiable" to us. In the same time, many other members hold completely opposite views and opinions. How do we prevent HubPages from becoming of echo chamber where opinion of questioner just reflected back to the author? Echo chamber is an empty room. Room filled with people, life, and useful stuff doesn't have much echo in it. Isn't free speech a freedom to be wrong?

Great insight. Thank you for illustrating the point: having a different point of view, being respectful, and adding to the community well being

Aren't we all always trying to promote our point of view? I don't know peoples motives, but we need to listen to the other points. I find though, that lots of people don't listen, they are looking for arguments against lol
