   What about followers who never read, or give feedback? Should we continue to read & note theirs?
   
   I am happy to have 85 followers. I read everyone of their Hubs, and comment 99% of the time, only a handful do the same. Should I keep on reading and encouraging them when they don't do anything back? There are a few who have very little time, and still come by for an occasional visit. I am not talking about them. How about a "Nudge" button...LOL

   Well since you are kind enough to read and comment then I think I would like to follow you!  It's nice to know what people think of your Hubs, even if they disagree!  Or if you could change something to make it better, anything is better than nothing!

   Thank you Sweetsusieg, I saw your follow before your answer, and your Hub titles got me. I will comment and read. In 5 weeks I have now read and commented on over 500 hub pages, I have 137 comments. These are generally from Hubbers who have hundreds of followers, so anyone 'can'...glad to be a team.

   That's up to you, but if it were me, I would comment sometimes out of courtesy, but I would not go out of my way for them anymore to comment on their articles.

   Followers I have noticed follow because you followed them or vice versa. If this is the case some of your followers may not be interested in the topics that you write about. I follow a couple of people whose technical hubs I like but i do not follow  the rest of their interests.
   It is wonderful that you read all your followers hubs and comment, not everyone is a good reader. It says much about you, but would you change the person that you are because others do not behave like you?? or because the do not fall in the line of your expectation... Think about that..

   This is a big problem for me.  Since I have other things that I have to do and hubpages, I wrestle with what pages to read and respond to...try to get to all comments eventually ,   but really it is getting to be harder to manage.

   I really thought getting followed was about how good the writter really is....never knew it was more like you scratch my back and i scratch yours......i have really failed a lot of people here but i will try to make it up with them from now on

   While appreciating your reading & commenting the hubs of all your followers, my feeling about your question here is that the decision is purely in the hands of an individual hubber. In my opinion, I use to read all hubs which really gives me some good ideas for developing my knowledge here even though they're not my follower. I definitely comment wherever I want to do it. I almost reply to the comments of my hubs. But, practically, apart from writing atleast three to four hubs a week, your reading of other hubs including your followers' (if you regularly want to continue that), commenting to the hubs wherever you like, replying to the comments you received to your hubs, taking part in the forums, answering some of the interesting questions here (like this one) and raising some questions here for your quest, the list goes on and on like this. You really find time for all these activities regularly? If your answer is yes, you are really GREAT! KEEP IT UP!!

    I don't have a problem if people don't read or leave feedback.  I just figure that people "do whatever" for whatever reasons they do.  I think if you enjoy reading and commenting on their Hubs - then why not.  If it's kind of a chore, and you're just doing it because you've been trying to support other Hubbers, maybe you should cut back on whoever/whatever would make sense to you.
    
    I follow a lot of people and can only read the Hubs of theirs that catch my eye.  (I also read Hubs that catch my eye but aren't written by people I follow.)  One thing I know is that a lot of people don't want to leave "any old comment" on a Hub (especially now, with the quality of comments being "measured").  I don't know...     People just do what they think is right, and a lot of people want to feel like they have something to add to the discussion before commenting.  Sometimes a Hub "says it all" very well, and if nobody disagrees it with it, there's not a lot of people feeling the need to comment.
    
    One thing I've seen people do is leave a line of text at the end of the Hub that invites comments/feedback.  (I, on the other hand, shut off most of my comment boxes  (LOL).  As much as I appreciate comments (and I really do), I don't want to keep re-visiting stuff I wrote three years ago.
