   How long does it take for a hub to mature?
   
   Ok, do ive been here five weeks and built 25 hubs. I'm trying to get new hubs published each week but I really need some feedback. Ive heard that it takes time for hubs to mature and google clicks to mount up. This would be useful so that I can get a feel for what works. At the moment im averaging about 15 google clicks a day on my account. How long do I leave it before accepting that a hub is rubbish and to steer clear of that topic?!
   
   For the record I do keyword research, looking for phrases with over 10'000 global searches and low to medium competition.

   Great question!  I've long ago decided that this is a long range income plan; I do no research; as I can only write about what I know.  I hope this is helpful, I'm told that if you submit your hubs to digg.com, then they are found by Google within one hour, and then available for Google search results.

   I really think it matters with the quality and content of the hub. Other factors include the title, usage of keywords, backlinking, and writing about something that strongly appeals to any audience.
   
   I personally have not writte a lot of hubs, but my hubs are doing fairly well, with traffic from the U.S. and abroad. The traffic goes up and down, but that's acceptable, because others, and not only in the hub community may write about the same subject as you.
   
   Before considering your hub(s) as rubbish you may want to review your hubs and edit them to correct any errors, (grammar and punctuation) and add things that may be more appealing to the reader.

   I have two hubs that were ranked among the first ten in the Google Search Engine within less than 24 hours and I have those that I can't find among the first 1000. I have no idea why some are very successful and some not. I guess there are many factors influencing the page rank, for example, keywords, backlinks (also interlinks) and competition.

   Backlinking is the key to anything ranking in Google searches, always has been and most probably  always will be. If you had a few hubs rank well without any back links they were most probably for phrases or words no one else uses. Highly unlikely that they are worth anything.  Remember it is very important that your back link contains the words you want to be found for.
   This didn't answer your original question though.. How long does it take a hub to mature ??
   depends on the topic. and the back links. another thing to be aware of is the quality of backlinks not just the quantity. 2 really good back links will do more for your site (or hub) than 200 that doesn't account for anything. relevance is of the utmost importance and this can be broad, spend the next five years trying to guess googles algorithm and if they don't change it you may stand a chance of total success. Otherwise just play the game like the rest of us.

   I would say atleast 6 months. I do keyword research and try to include kewords in my title, tags and body of the text. Plus I try to write hubs on the same topic on other sites and try to backlink them to my main hub. I see that this helps. Also as you say, I try to use keywords having low competition and  a global search of 10000 to 40000 every month.
