A local radio station is requesting 20,000 local fans to pledge at least one act of kindness during this holiday season. This inspired me to do the same on hubpages. I am interested to read how everyone is showing kindness daily, please share!
I was shopping yesterday and today.
The first day I ran into an older lady in the tooth paste isle that wanted to talk about using sensitive toothpaste. She told me I needed to buy the most expensive because it was the best. Don’t try to save pennies she said. She showed me the lotion she always uses. We talked for 20 minutes. I have no idea who she was. She needed to visit.
Today while shopping for a bowl another lady wanted to talk about her grandma’s bowl and how she had made cookies in it today. I took the time to visit with her. I also didn’t know her. My husband finally came looking for me just as I was checking out. I told him I couldn’t just walk away, he agreed.
That’s the only small kindness I did today.
That's awesome! My grandpa used to stop random people and talk to them. I think half the reason for their shopping trip is to get out and visit people like you said. I bet you made their day!!
Not bad. I always try to be kind, but I'm not always successful. One thing I heard of: if you go to a fast food place, pay for the car behind your's meal. The meal won't cost much (it's fast food not a 5 star resturant) and it'll make their day.
This wasnt today but I was at the post office a few days ago when an elderly lady approached me asking if I knew where a certain supermarket was. I gave her directions when she asked if I could give her a ride there. It was not in my direction but I decided to turn around and get her there. I had that warm fuzzy feeling inside ! Feels good to do acts of kindness.
I had to laugh at this one because I can relate! But, I agree, making the extra effort to be nice to your husband is definitely an act of kindness!!
I had been introduced to Ali a young man from Algeria when I was in Marseille ,France by a monk friend who lives in the inner city of Marseille last February. Ali is living with my monk friend in the inner city of Marseille to help him out while he goes to school . Ali is studying to be an engineer and was recently accepted for a PhD program In Norway university. He is a very good kid but comes from a poor family in Algeria. We email each other and skype sometimes.Today, I got an email from Ali that he is living in a temporary dormitory for students in Norway now but in two weeks he will not have a place to stay.He mentioned there is a temporary shelter for displaced students and he is out of money.I felt sorry for him. Today,I sent money to him in Norway through Western Union. I hope I sent him enough to get him through with his food .

Have you ever done a random act of kindness for someone that you know or some you do not know.

I published a new Hub today, and when I went to share it on my personal Facebook page as usual, all that showed up on the page was... the link. Nothing else. Usually I get that snazzy little box showing the title of the Hub and a thumbnail pic and everything. I've already tried sharing it from two...

I don't know about you, but I am so tired of reading or hearing of all the bad news going on in this world. Surely, there is some good news out there in the world! If you've read of something good, inspirational, positive, heartwarming, humans being kind to one another ...anything good,...

What is the last random act of kindness you engaged in?Do you partake in random acts of kindness? What is the last one you remember? I think it's nice this time of year to focus on the goodness in others. For me, I donated anonymously to help cover someone's medical expenses. Can't say more...

What was the last unsolicited act of kindness you performed? All too often we speed through life without recognizing the importance of a simple act of kindness. It's a reciprocal gesture, it good for both the giver and the recipient! I wonder why there isn't a national kindness day?
