Please forgive my ignorance but I am allowed to post my Hubs links to sites such as Facebook, Twitter, etc to promote them?
It's done by a lot of writers. While you wouldn't want to copy your actual work on any other site, you will want to promote your hubs with links on twitter, Facebook, Diggit, Pinterest, etc. People who do this usually settle on a few that provide the most results.
Yes posting links is fine. It is copying hubs elsewhere on the web that is a no no!

One thing I want to add- it's best only to share one's own Hubs on social networks in which one is an active participant (and interacts in other ways than just sharing stuff- plus shares stuff that is typically not promotional). If you think your friends would be genuinely interested in what you have to share, share away!

I noticed that hubs in niche sites no longer include the "More by this author" section below the hub. Is this just an oversight or was it a decision to drop it on niche sites?
