Is traffic behavior now dramatically going to yo-yo?

I've been consistent for months, then last week dropped by 50% for two days, then back up for two days and now back down for the second day in a row.  I just wondered if this is going to be standard now.  Thanks.

Wrong place to ask.  Drop a line to Matt Cutts and ask him.  I'm sure you'll get the same answer as here - none.

Who knows what google will do next?

I am defintely experiencing this too with no real pattern of consistency on days for highs or lows.

This is definitely something that happens from time to time, ytsenoh. Rest assured that nothing particularly 'weird' is happening with your account, and don't let it get to you!

Thanks Simone.  I only questioned it because it seemed like a new behavior to me.  It won't stop me from writing.  Thanks for the response.

I miss the standard days when things were predicatable. It used to be standard for me back in 2011,-- traffic and earnings were pretty steady back then-- then suddenly traffic dropped, never to come back regular again. If I could draw a graph of my traffic it would look like an enormous dip and then constant roller-coaster ups and downs. These past 3 days have been really nice traffic-wise, but I must hold on tight in anticipation for another bumpy ride!

My traffic graph has been fairly alpine in recent weeks too.  Like Wilderness says, it's difficult to predict what will happen next.  HP on the whole has remained pretty steady, however, whereas other similar sites such as Squidoo have been suffering.

Yesterday when I was looking into Analytic's I noticed that for 3/26/2013 my views were exponentially high. Then today when I checked again the views for that day ( my best day ever) were almost cut by half. I can understand a glitch on the part of HP, which is normal from time to time. What I don't understand is how Analytic's (Google), can have such a disparity in views from one day to the other.

Actually I was thinking about selling a graph of my page views from day-to-day to Six Flags as a pattern for a new roller coaster ride. The only problem is that people might get nosebleeds from the quick altitude changes. smile

I have been noticing this too. I was getting 1,000 steady visitors a day.. Now it plummets to as low as 600 and goes back up and down again. Sadly the spikes aren't as fantastic as the dips. They still remain at 1,000 or so. I see no rhyme or reason and because of this I find it difficult to increase traffic any farther. Annoying.

I would love to get 1,000 steady visitors a day.  I think that's great!

I am not complaining. I just am always aspiring for increasingly lofty goals. smile

I know you're not complaining.  Lofty goals are great.  I'm self-competitive, but my first passion is simply writing.  Any dollar benefit in here is a bonus.  I enjoy feedback on what I've written as most of us do.  I think steady visitors is a wonderful thing.

Mine too, lol. I have the same situation as Theopanes, but yours is better, my traffic went as down as 200 views then goes back to normal after few days then goes down again. I guess posting more hubs in diverse topics and making them into solid niches would help in bringing more traffic to our account.

Mine nose-dived to the bottom of the ocean again after going back up for a brief 2 week period.

    Rats.

I've been a member of HubPages for about a month and 1/2 now.

I've very close to 10,000 views now, with almost 70 articles. I have noticed some decreases in daily traffic, but nothing too drastic.
