From the earning reports I see that earnings depends on impressions and CPM. Understand impressions, but I am not sure if I know what affect CPM ratio, because it changes every day.
Would you please share here some of your knowledge and experience?
CPM is affected by what companies HP can get to contract with. By what is being advertised. By the topic or category of your hub. By the day of week and month, by the time of year. By what keywords you have used, and by what the viewer has been looking at in their recent past.
Lots of variables. few of which you have any control over.
CPM varies from subject area to subject area, and can also vary depending, as wilderness mentioned, on keywords in the text of your Hubs.
CPMs for topics like entertainment are pretty low, whereas CPMs for topics like finance and business are high (however competition within those categories is also very high).

My CPM was the lowest in the last 12 months yesterday, in a week of lows. Anyone else seeing this? What is happening and Why?

Guess it's due to the holiday season coming around, but although my views are still OK, my CPMs are half of what they were even a month ago. Anybody else seeing this, or is it just me?
