Does anyone know if the social security number that you are required to submit to HubPages is protected and encrypted? It appears the number is visbile on the webpage so I don't think it is....Did anyone else feel this way??
The asterisk (or not) thing is totally separate coding from the encryption transmission. If the address bar says "https", then the data is sent encrypted whether or not the asterisk function was used. If the address bar just says "http", then the data is indeed not being sent encrypted.
