I have had quite a success writing online. I have been writing for HubPages for three (3) years now. My real account has suffered heavily, and I'm trying to fight back. I tried Wizzley, but it was unsatisfactory.
I believe HubPages is recovering. I got $234 last month from HubPages. I thought of leaving, but I've changed my mind. HubPages will soon pick up. I want to encourage the newbies not to lose courage or heart. Give labor, and it will definitely pay out. Try to research your subject before creating a hub. Google will take care of the rest.
I'm doing party today! Funnnnn & lots of fun! Love you all ★ ♡ ★
If you can get to $234/mo with grammar like that, I've been doing something horribly, horribly wrong. You see, I, too, have another, more successful account... that has yet to break the $6/mo ceiling, LOL.
OP, I think the reluctance is coming from the fact that we all know Hubbers who have been around this joint for many years, have perfect writing both on the forums and on their established Hubs (which are visible for us to see and judge for ourselves, unlike those of your very successful second account) and they are not making anywhere near that amount.
I make my living writing online, and I've made well over $15,000 over the course of my career, but I'd say less than .01% of it has come from HP. It's a great site, I'm not knocking it, but traffic is what it is and just "giving labor" is definitely not all it takes to earn a living on here. So people are naturally going to be a bit suspicious when someone comes on the forums using less than stellar grammar, with only 1 follower, claiming to have a wildly successful second account. I'm not saying it's impossible that you do have another very successful account, but just understand where the red flags are coming from.
MindExplorer1, you haven't addressed Loksmi's question yet: "But it would have been more encouraging if you had used your successful account to post this thread."
In fact, all of us are waiting... we don't want to be taken for a ride with lies, lies, and more lies! And you seem to be consciously avoiding offering any solid proof. What's so difficult about using your real account, rather than a newly created one? I can also claim that I made $234, not in one month, but in one day, if I don't need to give any proof.
MindExplorer1, I didn't read the 'success stories' or saw your face, so don't be so egoistic. People like Warren Buffet and Donald Trump seem more humble than you are! So what is $41,000, or even $410,000? I was so impressed with your second last post but your attitude now makes me want to vomit... I'm leaving this thread before I do!!!
If I had been in your shoes, I would have show some real proof instead of this nonsense talk. You are going to get yourself banned if you don't give up and keep talking trash to our respectable members who have been nailing it here and doing far better than you despite not earning much.
Nah, I don't troll. And, if I recall, I didn't respond to this until you had several other folks (whose opinions I value greatly) respond. I may be poking a bit of fun, but I'm not trolling. If you're for real, I wish you the best of luck, but generally this type of thread isn't for real.
I do not know if this person is for real or just another of those trollers who puts a German address, but, there are plenty of people earning more than that at HP. Check those persons who have the "10million" accolade and do the math. Is it easy or even likely that someone will get there? Not at all. Is it possible? Definitely.
Oh, sure it's possible - and given that MindExplorer did offer us proof, perhaps she would like to direct us to the profile of the account where she's earning this amount. You're absolutely right in that we could glance at her accolades and get an idea of her earnings - without putting her in danger of breaking the TOS.
Im not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but a link that brings us back to the thread we're posting on isn't very good proof of anything... except that we've had quite a splendid time together this morning.
@Beth37 Your time is too precious to waste on a troll @MindExplorer1 You can stll blur your name and show everything else. You won't get in trouble, because no one will even know about your other account.
I am intrigued - by giving this person so much publicity are we in fact helping her to earn more money than we can ever hope to earn!!! - That $234 must have increased three-fold by now!!!! Makes you think she's definitely the smart one.
Wow, $234 is excellent, you are an inspiration to all of us hubbers and I'm not sure why you would want to leave! Just your presence here adds hope and inspiration to the rest of us! I can only hope that my hubs will start earning one-tenth of that amount per month! Excellent job!
The way to encourage people is offer help and advice. Simply stating what you earned may well have the opposite effect and demotivate writers who have been trying so hard to achieve success on HubPages.
Sadly, whilst you may have had good intentions MindExplorer1, I tend to agree with what has already been said. Until/unless you are prepared to share your real Hubber name and some information as to the means of your success, this is a pretty pointless thread.
"Marye, what you earned then and what you earn now is your private business. You shouldn't have to feel obligated to reveal your earnings just because somebody else has got a thorn up their rear end about it."
I honestly don't understand why people post about their success but aren't willing to show off their best hubs. Surely there would be nothing but positives showing it off to more people AND they can't copy the content.
Anyway, I saw someone on here say they are just about ready to quit. For those who do feel like quitting just remember you're only a failure when you give up not when you don't see the results you were expecting, its very crowded at the bottom of the ladder therefore there is a lot of space at the top, and finally you only have to be right once.
LOL, Indeed there is no limit within writer skills when it comes to poems or to slang expressions. XD Congrats on 234 USD. It's really impressive, especially for new members of hubpages. I would love to read couple of your best hubs, they must have flawless structure and show your skills.
Sam Elder, I would be surprised if she shows you any... she's been unable to offer any proof so far, despite our repeated requests. It's laudable to motivate one another in this community, but when you have to resort to lies to do so, I don't think it's right. MLMs often do stuffs like this to motivate their distributors and many have landed in court, paying millions in damages.
But Mark... look at my hubber score... it's <carry the two, cross out the one> somewhat higher than hers. Don't you see Mark? Our scores are much closer. I think HP's is trying to tell us something. Don't be afraid. It's not like Ive made a life size doll with your picture on it... that would be totally crazy!
Ok... Ill just wait here with the troll... she doesn't scare me, if you don't count the demonic comment. I'll be fine. Ill just wait until you come back and then we'll talk more about the comment I made once that you liked and we'll laugh and laugh about much fun we have together. Im so glad I wont need that doll anymore... as if I ever would! That would be totally crazy, which I am most definitely not. Ok then.
Mark told me to tell you he doesn't want to talk to you b/c he finds you unattractive... if you see him, don't ask him if he said that cause he is a very busy writer... and I might have to delete this as I don't want to hurt your feelings for longer than necessary. Im kind of compassionate like that.
You edited, making my retort look oddly out of touch. Ok here's a new one for you that I like to keep in my back pocket. I bring it out when dealing with trolls and I have nothing left to say. I'm going to share it with you now. <clears voice> "I like oranges."
Sometimes I wonder why folks even start such an unbelievable topic, lol. I am not a heavy hitter, but I have had well over a quarter of a million page views...but never made that kind of money in one month. Wait! Maybe I have another account that I don't know of, lol.
Bella, are you sure you just earned $0.10? I'm not getting much but I got 7 times as much. Is it because food recipes don't fetch as much in terms of advertisement revenues? Try writing on travels, like your "Phuket Budget Accommodation" hub. I understand that travel hubs fetch much more.
I just joined 1 month ago...i read some people earned more becuase they been here for 3 years already..so i know why..but i will try my best if i can reach that amount though..sometimes its hard to believe the story about earning..but anyway i continue writing. Thanks guys!
Bella, you are right. In every MLM, you hear people making millions. But when we join, we can't even make 1% of that. It's been said that for every 400 people who join Amway, only one will make it to direct distributor. And that's a mere 0.25% success rate, just to reach the first level. That anyone can make $1 million doesn't mean anything at all to me. I don't even bother to read success stories... they are, well, after all, just stories.
We just assess our own abilities and not be led to Timbuktu by so-called "motivators". If these "motivators" give us any tips, we test them out and see if it works. That's how we improve ourselves. But if people just blow hot and cold air, without giving even one single tip, let's not waste our time with them.
I earned a load of money by just writing stuff! It goes to show if you put the work in or lie through your teeth - you too can make money. If you want to know how I did it then send me some money or read my crap.I will...
My September earnings on HP amounted to more than $1,300. That includes Adsense, HPads, and Amazon sales. IF (notice - big if) this continues, hubby will be able to retire soon, which has been my goal all along. Last...
I have just received my first HP payout on PayPal late last month (USD$60-something)! It was a long journey since I was not very active and I wrote on and off (I only have 31/32 hubs at the moment). To all the hubbers...
Hey everyone,Another update from me.$342 via AdSense in JulyTotal since I started on HubPages (back in August 2006): $6,266.04(in contrast, I've made $56 off my personal blog on about 1/4 of the number of page...
No, I haven't yet made my AdSense payout (though I'm getting there), but I've had a really good Amazon month, so between the two of them, I've finally reached triple digits in sales! It's not enough to live on -- yet --...
This month, proud to say, I earned $1299 from my Squidoo account. Isn't that great? I have just joined HubPages, and am very excited to expand my online writing career. Yes, it's possible to earn quite a few bucks...
