How nice.... so cute puppies. I wish I can have a Great Dane one day... that's when I get a bigger house and yard, lol. It makes me smile just thinking of the fun your home is going to have when you have all them after a year! A wonderful birthday gift you have there from your grandpup, habee.
Hugs and kisses for a sweet grandmom! Happy Birthday, habee :smile

Wow... so cool.  I really want a Great Dane but I live in an apartment and I don't think it would be fair for the dog.  But when I move to the suburbs next year, it's on.  Congrats Habee!!!

Richard, if you knew how lazy Danes are, you wouldn't say that. A good walk every day and a little play time will keep most Great Danes happy. My 2 are super couch taters!

Congratulations! That is a pretty special present that she delivered to you--enjoy the next few weeks! (If you are going to keep one of the puppies for your family there is a great section on developing superdogs--early environmental stimulation--in Stanley CorenĀ“s book "Why Does My Dog Act That Way?". If you do not have it on your bookshelf go out and find it. Your new birthday present will thank you later!!!

The father is a black Great Dane, and black is genetically dominant over fawn, Kayla's coat color. One pup is MUCH smaller than the other 4, and the vet isn't sure she'll make it. She's nursing, though, so that's a good sign. We're in Southwest FL on vacay with my daughter and her family - Kayla's owners. Kayla was left in the care of the vet. I was ready to head back to GA as soon as we got the call that the pups had been born. I'm prolly keeping a black male and naming him "Shylock." If the runt lives, my son-in-law wants to keep her and name her "Layla." They'll have Layla and Kayla. The sire's owner is getting a female, and another male has already been claimed.

I'll post more pics when I get home.

Awwww.... puppies! And Great Dane pups, too! Looks like mama is keeping a watchful eye! My Roxy was the runt and no one wanted her - but so thankful we took her. Hoping the little one makes it and nursing is definitely a good sign.

Wow, who knew even great Danes puppies were that tiny?! Absolutely adorable. Good luck with having approximately 600 lbs of dogs in a year! Lol -- Happy birthday!

The little runt didn't make it. The vet said the other 4 pups are very strong, however.
