I've got a children's book that I would like to get published. I don't want to fall for a scam. It seems that self-publishing is the way to go. I would appreciate any advice you can give.
There's a guy I met in Tampa who self-published his own kid's book successfully enough to do a second print and a sequel. He also distributes it himself. He had to raise a fair amount of money through presold copies to friends and family and then lenders took those presales as equity or something to that effect.

Thank you for all your advice. Right now I think that CreateSpace might work. Still researching but they are leading the pack right now.
