Come in under the shadow of this red rock,
And I will show you something different from either
Your shadow at morning striding behind you
Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you...

Life is difficult, but so much more difficult for many others. We are alive and each new day holds new hope. The world is much bigger than this issue. Hang in there. May this be the worst thing that happens to you this year.

    BTW Will, that was lovely.

Well, actually, the next line is 'I will show you fear in a handful of dust.'

But that is TS Eliot for you.

Scarily dedicated to the next life, and always fearful of not making it.

Are you saying you posted something here in the forum without first giving credit? Interesting.

          If I was to say

'Methinks the lady doth protest too much' would I have to signal the source?

You are the expert on that. I am but a simple bushman.

Fatigue is but the remainder of
such energy as in a live heart
To not be tired  from living
    you didn't do your part

    That isn't T.S. Elliot

When he arrived at Oxford as an undergraduate, W. H. Auden went to  see his  tutor in literature, who asked the young  man  what he  meant to do in later life. "I  am going to be a poet," Auden answered. "Ah,  yes,"  replied the  tutor,  and  began a small  lecture on the ways that verse exercises could improve one's prose. Auden scowled. "You don't understand at all," he interrupted. "I mean
    a great poet."

I heard a story once about an Irish poet  who , when asked  "What do you do when you become frustrated  with the reception of your poetry "?.......................and he said,  "I write so that I can continue to really know merely myself,   and if no one reads my wording , so be it !  Then It may have served  only to help free my soul  from it's ink stained entrapment ", .........okay so I wrote that , forgive my Irish soul !
