I also want to introduce myself. I am a passionate poker player that had his world (like many others) turned upside down because of the infamous "Black Friday". I lost my income, my money was locked on full tilt and absolute poker, I had a fiance at the time whose kid I was going to adopt. When my income left, so did everything else, my soon to be wife & family. I lost my home, I was homeless. It all happened so fast and the money was gone. I took what little money I had left and fled to Mexico. In Mexico I was able to play online poker like I did before. I amassed a small fortune and I came back to America... with a vengeance. I was hell bent on helping everyone I could. Some didn't make it to Mexico... A good friend of mine took to drug use, and died while I was gone. This is my story.

Question: I posted my first hub the other day "PokerLancer" and how it brings new job opportunities for people, this its not published yet. I don't have any warnings either. How long does it normally take for a hub to be published publicly?

Hi Daniel, welcome to HubPages. Are you sure you clicked publish? I went to your profile page  clicked on your activity and it does not show the message that you published a hub. Suggestion, go to your, "My Account" stats page and scroll to the bottom, you will see several little icons describing the status of your hub.

      hope this helped smile

Welcome to HP. Sorry to hear about your life story i am g;ad that you made it back and I hope that you think of some types of warnings, or such, to write about on your Hub. they would be very helpful in getting it published. Unless there are holdups or delays of some kind it generally takes 24 hours. It depends what it looks like to the person(s) reading it.

Thanks for the the information. Please don't be sorry for me, there are many others out there in far worse situations than me. I do appreciate your concern however. I am right on track and now I am ready to help others!

You are welcome - I hope that it works for you. You are right about the others, I will remember that and good for you in wanting to help others!
By the way I should have mentioned in the first post that if you have two gray arrows (in a circle) then your Hub is still under review.

I don't know what your hub was about, this is just something I'm throwing out. Could this be the reason? From the HubPages FAQ:

    hubpages.com/faq/#gambling_topics

"Am I allowed to create Hubs about gambling?

Hubs that promote or link to sites that offer or promote gambling for money are not allowed. Discussions of gambling rules, strategies, or events are generally acceptable. If you are unsure if your gambling-related Hub is ok, please contact us for clarification before publishing your Hub."

The content is not gambling. It's coaching and teaching of the game. It is not a gambling website. I clicked publish I wonder why it still not published. I will retry a new hub I guess hmm

Before going to all the trouble of writing a new hub, try emailing someone at HP first to see if you can find out what is up with the one you already wrote. You may not hear something right away since it is Sunday.
