I know the TOS preclude me from discussing the details but my earnings have been in the tank - eBay earnings have been zero with the new changes and then VoilĂ ! one sale and a big payout! Hip, hip, HOORAY!

Excellent news! I haven't really delved into eBay - Adsense is working nicely, but of course, we could all use some extra income! I plan to add some in the future. Any small tips for us?

Can someone please explain the possible payout that comes from an ebay link?  Also, do you load the content yourself or is it  automatically done and keyword driven?

With an e-bay link, the payout is only if someone clicks on the item from your page, bids on e-bay and wins the bid/item and purchases it.  I dont recall the percentage offhand. I would need to look it up.   In my opinion, amazon stands a better chance since it is a straight purchase and while the buyer sees other choices, the odds are in our favor more so.
To get the E-Bay link and item on your hub, look to the top left of your hubpage while in editing mode, click on it and it will be added to the bottom of your page.  You may also go to the area of the page and a mini icon will come up for you to add a "capsule", click on it and choose the e-bay link since there are many options, ie photo, amazon, ebay, etc.
Once the ebay capsule is there, click on the way you wish to search for a related item, by title or by your choice key word.  I find key word option works best for me.  Once you have that in place click "search" and up comes an item !  If you want to keep it, simply select it and "ok" it.  I dont recall specifics of this step so you will be able to discern it once you are this far!    I hope this is helpful and I wish you the best!   I will look for your post if you have any other questions.  Take care!

Congratulations!   As for ebay, I've decided to delete this capsule.  I've made nothing from them in over 3 years.

I had quite a few sales on eBay in the run up to Christmas from just one Hub.  I am no expert but when I choose a product to display I find one that is very popular on eBay. You can see how many items from that listing have been sold, if that number is in the hundreds or thousands there is a good chance you will make a sale.  For instance, your Hub 'Things to Consider when Buying Flax Seeds' only has one eBay item which is a used grinder in auction format, I found another really nice looking grinder with the seach term 'flax seed grinder' from a top rated seller with over 100 sold from that one listing.

Well, now you've got me re-thinking the ebay capsule.  There's always a chance I'm not using it to its full advantage:)  Thank you!

Yes it is not as simple as the Amazon capsule!

You have to find the product (make sure it is a Buy It Now with lots sold), then enter the ebay sellers ID and the entire title of the product in the search box and the product you want should show up.

Thank you all so much! And thank all the Hubbers who have graciously and patiently trained me. I love HubPages for many reasons and I have stayed through all the changes in the Panda's and beyond. It is rewarding to see the dollar signs appear.

Blessings to the HubPages team and all our fellow Hubbers!
