This month I have steadily seen an increase in my earnings. By lunch time today, it had reached a certain amount, but by tonight it had dropped by almost $5. Why would that be? Is there a precedence for something like this?

Strange things are happening - all the estimated earnings have changed to 0 from the last four days - - from Sunday on.  Not to worry - they will have it fixed by the time payout rolls around.

You just beat me to it! I just saw that since this morning, my earnings dropped nearly 20%. On my daily breakdown of the last 7 days, I see that the last four days have been wiped out. ??? I'm hoping there is some glitch and this will be restored/corrected ASAP.

Clarification *** My earnings that I ALREADY earned dropped 20% since this morning. Meaning, 20% had been taken away from my total for the month to date...not a drop in daily earnings.

Hi all, we had technical issues with processing the data we received from ad networks. The fix is being worked on and we expect to have Ad Program earnings for March 13-16 updated and finalized by tomorrow morning. We apologize for the inconvenience and lack of warning (there is an announcement up in My Account now). Please check back tomorrow. Thanks!

Figured as much. My pulse rate didn't even quicken when I saw this thread. Give yourselves an extra box of donuts this Thursday. big_smile

Every time something like this happens when the numbers return they are far less than before. Just an observation..... smile

So if my numbers are better should I send an email to HP staff and complain?

If you go to your account page and click on your earnings listed, as you know it will take you to the page that lists your daily earnings, etc.  At the top of that page is an announcement; Processing Delays, etc.  They're saying they expect this issue to be resolved by tomorrow morning.

I have lost about $15, so I hope it comes back the same or better than before.

Well, I am seeing some return of earnings. Is the total less than before as Cardisa suggested it might be? Yes! Not by a lot, but it is less which means at least a day's worth of earnings are not accounted for so far. Not happy.

Cardisaposted 10 years agoin reply to this

Every time there is a glitch with the payment system the earnings drop. For me it's not computing because of my daily average earning based on my traffic. Sunday was my best traffic day which was reflected in my earnings yesterday. Now the adjustments has reduced my earnings by almost a day, yet Monday's earnings are included. It's making no sense to me.

Perhaps a Hubpages staffer can again weigh in on this issue too. How about it Marina? Is there an explanation for this?

Same for me, too, Cardisa. I had a really good Sunday for traffic and earnings. The amount is now lower than initially reported. This has happen before as you indicated earlier, very disappointing when you think you made a certain amount. (sigh)

Cardisaposted 10 years agoin reply to this

It's hard for me to accept the figures and these are some of the reasons why people don;t stick around. Earnings are not transparent and they should be. People should not be wondering what happened. A clear explanation should be offered and something plausible at that.

            1. wilderness profile image94
wildernessposted 10 years agoin reply to this

What would you consider "transparent"?  You are given traffic figures, impression figures and CPM already.  We were told that "we had technical issues with processing the data we received from ad networks." - would you like the programming details of what happened to be published for the world to see (and would it do you any good to know them)?

Do you wish HP to make public what it is being paid for specific ads, ruining any competitive advantage we get from using yeild build or the prices HP negotiates?

I think HP does a pretty good job of mixing information given/kept secret.  They give us what they can without destroying their competitive stance in software and negotiations, IMO.  What else would you like to see before considering earnings to be "transparent"?

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. And maybe I don't see this as clearly as you do. Thanks for scolding me. smile

I share the experience. Maybe it's just a glitch in their system. Don't be alarmed, this happens often but will be back to normal in a few days.

I just posted the same question and lost about $5.00 also. I have never seen this happen but must be a problem with the system. Hopefully they will be able to fix it soon.

There is no money because all the impressions were actually zero.  HP had no traffic on those days. big_smile

Oh well, guess I need to do some editing and improve my hubs.

Me, too.  I went from about 1,000 impressions to zero.

I trust they'll be found when the gnomes and fairies again tire of playing with numbers.

I was wondering what happened to all of my lawn gnomes. I guess they caught a plane to SF so they could play a little mischief with the numbers.

You got it!  They get bored with all the grass, I think, and want to pretend they are mathematicians.  So off to HP they go and the poor programmers have a devil of a time tracking them down through all the hard drives.

We were getting a star on the earnings for the past four days. It means these were yet to be verified. So the verification is being done now. Wait and watch.

Is that what those stars mean? I thought HP was putting that on there when you did a good job. My kindergarten teacher used to do that.

Thanks for the reply Admins of Hubpages. I always think that few things could change our revenue but only temporary. I always expect this circumstances.

But I am more glad that HP staff attends our needs. I love hubpages.
