Hello Friends. I'm a newbie for hubpages . Could anyone explain me the use of Summary text..! (while writing a hub)
This is a crucial element in getting traffic from the Google search engine. On HubPages, the 'Summary' is used as the Description Tag. (See my Hub 'What is SEO?'. From the Table of Contents, go to: 'III. A. 3. Meta Tags' and look for 'Meta Tag Description.')
Use it as a sort of "teaser" to entice a person to want to read the article. It has to be pretty short, so you can't say much anyway. So make it interesting, to draw in the reader.
Google will display only 160 characters (including spaces) and HP takes up some of that by displaying the date. So, you need to make your best 'sales pitch' within a very few words to encourage searchers to click on your listing from a search results page.

Hi,The title says it all. I am wondering whether the standard summary Hubpages recommend is good enough or whether one should write a good summary for each hub. Thanks!

Please do something to the filters so that Hub summaries as graphically-cluttered as the below can be found. This can't be helping.

Hi - I'm kind of new to creating hubs and I was hoping someone could explain a little about summary text. What are the advantages of writing it instead of having it done automatically? What is the goal of it...

I had a Hub that had what looked liked a "crummy" summary text, based on the automatic thing that happens if one doesn't write his own summary. So, I changed it to something I thought would be better,...
