Can I insert any add in a HubPage? Say can I paste an HTML add from a advertising company of my choosing or I can only go with Amazon, Adsense etc?
Any advertisement or banner? Not really. There are a lot of restrictions around this.
Anyone who comes to this site with the ambition of driving traffic elsewhere or trying to promote other sites finds most of the systems and rules are firmly set against them.
As you've only been on the site for a day, I suggest you read this,

Purely promotional material (ads included) can violate the site policies and result in a moderation of your content.

When I am looking at other web sites and the first thing that pops up is an advertisement (above the fold) I usually bounce out of that page and go find something else to read. I am sure I am not the only one to do so....
