Well I've already reported a few spammers in the forums...it seems they hit HP overnight, when the staff is asleep...
This, sadly, is a summertime trend. Like mosquitos that come with warm weather.
Best practices for dealing with it:
1. Flag the message as spam.
2. Flag the profile of the spammer as spam.
3. Go about your usual HubPages business
4. Lather, rinse, repeat as needed
What's apparently really hard for many people is not posting in the spam thread itself. Unfortunately, this then prevents admin from deleting the entire thread, and you get cut-off message of complaints and threats that look ridiculous by themselves. People just need to learn to stop doing that part and the forums would clean up much faster.
