Hello everyone, my name is Eric Seidel, I'm new here. I am a refugee from a site called Squidoo and have been moving my work over to this site. Since it's all going to be deleted from Squidoo in October.

Anyway today I have been copy/pasting my work over to Hubpages but I made the mistake of publishing a Hub BEFORE deleting my original Lens. So I've re-submitted my Hub for publication but I'm concerned now that my new Hub is screwed.

I would like to contact the administrator and explain my situation if possible. Or do I have nothing to worry about now that the original Lens has been deleted?

Can I ask why you're copy/pasting instead of allowing HubPages to transfer your lenses for you?   If you've got even one Featured lens, and you've set up your account using the link from your Squidoo dashboard, all your lenses will be transferred for you and you'll even get 301 redirects from your lenses to your Hubs.   Well worth waiting for and avoids all those duplicate content issues too.

That's because I know better than to trust that. I downloaded Squidoo's little tranfer file thing and there was nothing in it. That was the first red herring. Then there was the fact that Squidoo didn't really care enough about it's followers to keep the site running so I seriously doubt they would transfer over better than how I'm doing it. I want it done right so I did it myself.

My original issue however was that I forgot to delete my Lens BEFORE posting the Hub. It has nothing to do with the transfer. smile

As a fellow refugee, I share your anxiety over this move.  However, I wouldn't worry about Squidoo botching anything during the move because I don't think they are doing it.  If I understand correctly, HubPages is, not that said interpretation should in and of itself alleviate any fears.

While I have yet to see any figures as to how my HP paid, I doubt the sum was small.  Seth is not known for dealing in chump change.

That fact makes me think they will be doing the move and doing their best to make it successful.  If not, what did they pay for?  The only other thing I could think of would a competition elimination.  Why leave the goods you bought on the counter when you leave the store kind of mentality here.

Content on Squidoo has not yet been unpublished and as such we strongly suggest not manually importing your content or you are likely to cause these Hubs to be moderated as duplicate.
Please use the automatic migration process from the Squidoo dashboard for any other Squidoo content in order to avoid duplication moderations.

            Thanks again Matthew.

This won't be an issue from now on, I only had four Lenses, everything from now on will be Hubpages originals.

If you've since deleted the Squiddo lens, not to worry. Allow the process to run its course. It seems to take 24 to 72 hours to be reviewed by an admin and cleared.
