An elderly man who was a dear friend of mine, and very studied in the Bible, work, philosophy and a self-made carpenter told me this quote that has stayed with me. He told me this a few weeks before passed.
He said that a young man once told him of his marriage woes and that the new groom was obviously rethinking his marriage to his bride. After listening for an hour to the young man rant and rave, my friend looked at him and said,
"When you first sense a spat coming on and you feel the urgency to be right--you have a choice to make. Do you want to be right or be happy?"
The young man took it to heart and from that day he never unloaded any more marriage woes on my friend.
