a few suggestions

    1. the ability for users that have been members for a certain amount of time and have written a hub/in good standing to be able to send a private message to another member.  very useful for getting critique on a hub. a block user/report feature here too. 
    2. reduce the information given to one update daily or get rid of hub stats altogether..always frozen or behind anyway.  I think the people working on these here at hubpages have a lot of needless problems because google hasnt streamlined their services:webmaster tools, analytics and AdSense.   Perhaps make hub stats only available to the hubpages staff so they don't get drowned in frozen stats questions.
    3. do away with the traffic arrows.  they've always been behind for me and can be mostly demotivating because I usually get the blue falling arrow..even if analytics says otherwise.
    4. interaction with the hubpro staff and vice versa should be encouraged,  it is useful but it should be more of a team effort.

      I rather like the suggestion about private messages, but I see the potential difficulties involved in regulating who can send and receive.  Sure would be nice, I am for no particular reason biased against e-mailing actual people.

        yes, I was thinking about that too, my intention was only to prevent harassment or trolling from brand new accounts (less than a week old maybe?)..but then the new hubber wouldn't be able to reply to an established member and wouldn't be fair to the good people .. so I think you are probably right to allow all members to p.m. another hubber.

      Agree with 2 and 3.  As much as I like the convenience of seeing the stats here on-site instead of having to log into my analytics account (I have several G accounts and you can only be logged in to one at a time!) if the stats are going to continually be broken or lagging then they aren't really helpful anymore.  And since the arrows are tied to the broken stats, they are less than useless.

      I personally have disallowed e-mail contact and even fan mail comments because I noticed people used them to send me nastygrams about things they didn't like about my content.

        I always disallow personal email contact even if my email is "masked".  I learned that on certain cross device platforms personal email addresses can be seen if using certain email or messenger apps.  It didn't happen on this site though.  a function to disable personal messages sent only on the site would be smart though.

      If you want to private message other hubbers you can always email them.  Problem resolved.  For items two and four...really?  Nobody wants to limit stats updates as many here rely on them heavily and geesh, how much more interactive do you want this staff to be??  I think they do a great job, and so do most of the writers here.  As for traffic arrows, they help us to know which hubs are stagnating and which are moving forward.

      Most of the things you mention here exist to help guide us with our work.  I cannot understand your problems with them.

        my apologies, the email link was under fan mail and I really didn't think that was the same as a private message for critique, but thanks for pointing it out.

        I think the staff does a good job, I think the problem mostly lies on google's end in updating if the statistics from hubpages come from google.  my statistics are always frozen or behind so I don't use them, I go to google analytics so I can see real time reports and other data not available here.
