Hey Hubpages is really a great website and all, but I started to hate the colors here, would be great to do a small color update, don't you think so.
Hi, Amine. The idea behind the look of the site and the articles is to present a sharp, professional and consistent look for the reader. I personally prefer the look of this site to many of the other rev-share sites. It's kind of minimalist but looks clean.
They also endorse the cooking and eating of kangaroos, see the latest HubPages Weekly. I'm hiding my cats as we speak.
Come to think of it, I really did like the shade of blue on that avatar they displayed 3 weeks back.
I was hopping that they would give us more options on customizing hubs like font color.
Yes that could happen, but still their hubs would have to go through the QAP so the HP team could add something like (you can use only one color or two) in to the QAP system, you know like when you write some words in bold or italic the system notices that and asks you to change it, the same thing could be used for colors and fonts to ensure it's clean look.
ABSOLUTELY.
Have you seen some of the ugly websites people throw together? Once I saw a site a well meaning person put up to showcase her writing, in order help her land freelance writing jobs. The site had a black background with purple script type -- I kid you not. I don't know whether or not she was a good writer, because I couldn't read a dang thing on her site. I do know she had bad taste or perhaps color blindness.
I am no graphic designer; I am not saying I could have done better (well, I probably could do better than purple script on a black background). I am happy to use HubPages clean, professional-looking design.
If you want to add color to your hubs, use photos, graphics, banners or other illustrations.
i agree with you on that one purple script on a black background looks really horrible.
Oops, I misunderstood. I thought you were talking about the overall site. As to font color, I am reasonably certain any color other than black would cause the readers and Google to run for the hills. Industry standard and all that.
It's okay, and yeah that really could happen
Use Picmonkey.com to edit photos any way you prefer. It's free and fun to use for photo editing.
Hey, thanks for the hint, I'll check it out.
Well, with it's simplicity it really looks clean, although it could be a bit more colorful without destroying it's simplicity and cleanness, but that's my opinion of course . However, thanks for the comment.
That's a bit too much for me. Maybe the colors shouldn't be that grill and attracting .
Just in researching one photo you are using on a hub, I see that it is one that belongs to a professional photographer by the name of Lukas Jonaitis. He sells his photos for a living.
Do you have permission to use one of Lukas Jonaitis' photos on your hub?
You have several beautiful professional quality photos on that hub I looked at.

I don't know, maybe this is just a disgruntled Rant by myself, alone.I call myself a Writer. By default, this makes me a Reader. And, as someone who has the arrogance to think I am good enough to call myself a writer and a reader, I have opinions, on my works as well as the works of others. So, with...

Hey, who else?I was frustrated. They took two photos off of my Hub "17 Most Significant Animes in the United States". If I do a "Top X Blah Blah Blah" type list, EACH ITEM GETS ITS OWN PICTURE. That's just common sense. But no, for no reason, the editor took out two perfectly...

When it was first introduced I was annoyed by it but made an effort to tweak my hubs to get them out of Idle status. Now, a whole load have got zzs against them again and many of them are hubs that at one point were very successful and even now still have scores above 70 or higher. One of the hubs...
