I opted for the affiliate Amazon program quite sometime ago. Now I notice that my other Amazon account has been closed with this comment "This account is closed and will not generate referrals. Access to this site is for historical purposes only." This means I now cannot create new accounts.
If I were to opt out of this Hp ad program, I wonder whether my Amazon account can be reinstated. Any expert who can comment on this? Thanks.
Hubpages has zero direct influence over your Amazon account, that account has been closed by Amazon. In recent years Amazon has started closing accounts that are not generating referals. If you search through your email you may find the warning message they sent (possily in the spam bin).
The only way to try and reactivate that account is to contact Amazon directly.
They closed your account because you probably ignored the COPPA email they sent to you. It happened to me as well. You just have to reapply again.

I recently opened a second HP account and, following directions from HP, signed it up for Amazon. Eventually I made one sale (for $100, darnit!) and found that it was credited to a totally separate Amazon account...

I am self published, so I add amazon modules to my hubpages where ever they are relevant. Lately I've noticed that my sales on Amazon don't line up with my royalties on hubpages. I can see a clickout...
