Please add a print page capsule feature for printing recipes or other DIY  instructions to make it easier for the user to print just the ingredients and directions or DIY instructions for the hub they are viewing.  Almost all recipe sites have this feature.  Maybe users would be more likely to return to Hub Pages with this convenience added.

Perhaps it could be in the form of brackets, moving other capsules between the brackets for printing.  Please also add a print icon with a title box where we could put "Print Recipe" or "Print Instructions".  It might help also if the user could see a dashed line or other line where the print begins and ends.

    See [link snipped] for example.

Actually, we used to have this feature, but it was almost never used by readers, so we retired it.

        Hi Christy,

I would encourage HubPages to seriously consider adding it back. A print-friendly option is a feature that readers expect to see in any online recipe. And since most recipe hubs include more information than just the recipe, it would be extremely helpful to readers to be able to print just the recipe.

Thank you for considering this request!

We have concrete data that showed a very tiny percentage of total readers ever actually used this feature when it was available, which is probably because all major browsers come with a built-in print function that most people have become accustomed to using instead of looking for an option on the page. These days most people also simply read recipes and instructions from their smartphones or tablets rather than printing them out. It's a feature most new or recently-updated websites don't feel the need to offer any more.

Thanks for your response and the rationale for not reinstating the feature, Christy. I appreciate it!

My pleasure. I know it can be frustrating when we remove features Hubbers are used to seeing or using on HubPages, but we do so only when we truly believe it's in the best interest of the site. smile

I too have greatly missed the print feature for recipes.

I am glad someone mentioned it once again. It worked beautifully and I was in the process of adding my own recipes.

Perhaps the return of the print recipe feature could be with a new feature to add personal notes that are not published to help the cook wanta bee such as myself refine my culinary habits? Just a thought to make it more useable and become the go to point for recipes.
