I've tried nicotine, GM...didn't help.  In fact, it seemed to accelerate things, side effects like itching to come up with the most riveting hub possible, mentally searching for ways to get a million people to read my hubs overnight, trying to figure out how to quit working anywhere else but HP.

I was warned that it only gets worse with prolonged HP exposure.

Lightbulbs and eyepoking won't solve the addiction. You're talking about temporary solution to a permanent problem.

No...if you're gonna do it right, do it properly.

Take a spoon and just pop them pies right out their sockets.

That should do the trick rather nicely big_smile

    Yours, frodropping, MD

  6. GeneriqueMedia profile image61
    GeneriqueMediaposted 14 years ago

Meh, a spoon is tooooo painful and not quick enough. You need something with the ability to sink into the pupil but concave enough to pop it out...a spork would probably be more fitting. ;P

Help--I'm a new addict. I've all the classic symptoms--sweaty hands, constant cravings to surf hubs, red eyes from gawking at the hub screen constantly, which leaves me with no desire for anything else.

    Any advice?

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there is none.

HubPages is much like cancer - it gradually grows on you and by the time you realize it, it's already full blown and you're toast! There's some therapy available, like smashing your computer (but then there's always a friends house or the library), but no cure has been discovered yet big_smile

(I know it sounds bad, but it's actually not as bad as it sounds)

Me too totally addicted, I have been heavily into crafts for years, and got so addicted my whole house was taken over by them,,,,,,,  I have calmed down on the craft front, but looks like this is my next addiction..

So many people to chat to, learn from etc etc etc.....  Thinking of limiting myself to one or two hours a day, but before you know it the day has gone..... had no time yesterday to be true to my COFFEE addiction even......

I have the perfect cure.  I'll loan you my husband, three of my grandchildren, and all of my friends who think they need my constant attention, along with my dog who needs to go out every 30 minuets, and all the projects in progress around my house, and the errands that seem to be self-replicating...I'll stop here.  I often go for months without having an hour to visit hupages...as documented by having only 6 hubs in 18 months.  But hey...I'm not addicted...well...only when I have the time.

I am sooo addicted to hub pages that I even wrote a hub about why hubpages is so addictive to me. I wish someone would have told me a long time ago about hubpages. I just found out about hubpages two weeks ago and I love it!!!

Hubpages got me writing again. I just published my first piece of fiction that I have worked on in some months. The story is an older one that I'm re-writing but for me, this is a major blessing. I've been hating writing for some time and haven't had an outlet for my science fiction! Now I do! Thanks HP!

There is a cure but it requires you mix some really unfavorable ingredients together and then you must swallow it whole, not the best thing to do so it would just be better to stay an Hubpage addict.
