I recognized your name. I'm so glad to have finally found someone with Hungarian roots here.

That was my plan too until I got a mega rush writing job that's due by Monday am, so I'm only allowed a quick breather here and there. zs

    Hi,

Please explain. We would love to join in your celebrations - but we haven't a clue what they are!

    What are, "Cannacks?"

    Sorry - no offence intended!

Curious traveller! Canacks is just a nickname for Canadians (I just realized that I spelled it wrong it is written with just one 'n') Victoria day is the holiday we celebrat in honor of Queen Victoria's birthday May 24. This is usually the long weekend that we here in Canada get our planting done in our gardens, some open up the cottages for the year and some brave souls put in their first camping trip of the season ('brave' as it can still get quite cold during the nights).

      kindest regards Zsuzsy

Canada has Victoria day on Monday. Some "Canucks" do like the British monarchy while others have different ideas of Canada tongue big_smile  Canucks refers to avid hockey fans I think lol

Not quite, Canucks are just a term for Canadians. I personally don't like hockey.

There is a hockey team called the Vancouver Canucks though, the two are not related smile
