I just want to make sure I'm doing this correctly.
I have a website with a hubpage banner at the bottom of the "about me" page.
In the source of that page is the code for the banner:
<a href="http://hubpages.com/"><img alt="HubPages" src="http://hubpages.com/x/hubpages_728-90.gif" /></a>
When someone clicks on that banner will it automatically default to my tracker or do I have to manually put my tracker # in and if so where (where the x is?)
You need to put the tracker into the link, not into the image source. This is probably what you'd want to use:
<a href="http://hubpages.com/_Dottie1/"><img alt="HubPages" src="http://hubpages.com/x/hubpages_728-90.gif" /></a>
You can get automatically generated HTML with your tracker in it for linking to most pages by clicking "link to this page" in the footer (of the page you want to link to).
I'm glad I asked. I thought the top code was the image source since it says img alt. I have added Dottie1 in to my "about me" page. Thank you muchly. Dottie
