   You could also say july 8th would be the same. All depends on how you do your date. You have it day/month/year
   
   month/day/year
   12:34:56 07/08/09 is the same thing as july 8th instead of your august 7th.

   you are misleading us, when you write date in / format you need to start with the month so if it is 7th of august 2009 you will write it in 08/07/09 and not 08/07/09, check your English or grammar first before writing this

   In the US the date will be July 8 since we generally put the month before the day.  Yeah I know it isn't logical, but what do you expect from rebellious colonists.
