    I read this:

Traffic Referral Program: If you send traffic to any Hub, you’re entitled to either 9% or 12% of total impressions. You’ll receive 9% if the Hub you’ve referred people to already has impressions allocated to an Affiliate. If there are no Affiliates, you’ll receive 12% of the total impressions.
Whatever is left from the splits above goes to HubPages. Note that these splits apply only to HubPages and User Profile pages. On all other pages, such as a referral to a Tag page or the HubPages home page, you’ll receive 30% on a traffic referral, with HubPages getting the rest.

But am abit confused as to what it means exactly.. paul can you help me out here? how do you send traffic to another hub, how do you get credit for it etc.. fill in the blanks for me please

You might wish to try reading the HubPages FAQ, especially this section

    http://hubpages.com/faq/#affiliate

and let Paul tackle some tougher issues.

I know you mean well but please realize I quoted right from the page your linking me to, I read it its not that I didn’t try, I don’t just ask questions to hear my own voice or lazily waste the forums time, I was using the forum to get assistance because I didn't "understand" or comprehend the full thrust of how it works.  As well written as the FAQ is its far from complete the basics are there but not everything is explained in enough detail hence the forums function, my question was directed at more info on how this worked so I could fast track to getting down to business since I didn’t find the information to be complete enough to answer my question.

I was asking Paul because he often gives complete answers and is a great deal of help, I see him sprinkled all over every forum with great advise.. the second part of that was in another post I put up asking if anyone had hubs that described the complete format for signing up and getting "pay ready" the major services like eBay, Amazon and ad sense because I'd rather spend more time learning link backs, and networking, and writing blogs than trying to figure out how to set up the pay channels which should be pretty simple but I'm having to learn through dozens upon dozens of posts to figure out things I didn’t catch the first time..

      Thanks for your help

Basically, you put a tracker into a link to almost any page on the site, and then you get people to click on the link.   I see you figured that out how to make links in the other thread (hint: just click link to this page in the footer).  There is also more information here:

    http://hubpages.com/tour/affiliate/

and Darkside made a nice hub about it too:

    http://hubpages.com/hub/tracking

I'm happy to answer any specific questions you may have.

Awesom, I really do appreciate your help paul (and the others who help smile I discovered the link to this page link too (that is one great help there) while I was helping my father get his account set up and showing him all I learned so far.. the creating of a link to give to those who you want to affiliate/set up their account under mine so I can make money still seems a bit intimidating to me (because if you dont format it right you lose a potential income source) but I think I go it.. I'll check out that hub (Love how hubbers make these helpful hubs!)

I was wondering paul could you create (or maybe you did and I havent discovered it yet) a way to do the affiliate link the same way you do the "link to this page" at the footer of all hubs? so I could just pick a hub, then click the link and the affiliate link is set up for me (not that I'm lazy and dont want to do the steps but I have more confidence in the link if its created by the site itself like the link to this page footer link is)..

I read someowhere their is a way to use a word instead of your tracking id (which is linked to it anyway?) hazy on this.. I'll check that hub out see if it answers my questions.. I'm wondering if its ok to create a hub that essentially would talk the person landing on it into signing up, why its cool, how it makes them money and so on and I could just create an affiliate link to that one then use it exclusively for my sign ups for 10% of their impressions campaign.

is this ok to do or is it advertizing/spam?

      Jerrico

p.s. I asked a while back about people I told to sign up but didnt have them use an affiliate taged link.. actually this should be easy to answer since it was signing up through your sites invite system.  When I signed up hub pages asked me if I wanted to invite my friends to sign up and they had me enter the addresses into a box (I think they just grabbed all from my yahoo mail address book).. do those people who take the mail link hub pages sent them and sign up get attached to my account as an affiliate? do I make the revenue from their future work since it was my invite that got them to sign up? thanx for your time..

    Paul,

Where do I go to see who signed up under me? I have signed up 4 people and I can't figure out where to go to see who they are (to confirm their sign up did happen under me and I am earning impression percentages for their future hubs).. is their a page I can click to to see this list? I thought that in the tracker token page (my trackers) the section stating "sign ups" was this (as a generic just how many sign ups you referred), we should be able to see which authors we referred and signed up under us we are making revenue from right? if not can you make a way for us to see which authors we signed up (for peace of mind and ability to keep track of how many we told about the service) I'm not sure about most of this yet and am learning so please bare with me while I learn it.. can you help me find the tracking data pages? or show me how I can find out who is showing signed up under me? thanx

http://hubpages.com/my/trackers is where you can create and view the performance of your Trackers/Referrals.

Unfortunately it doesn't reveal actual usernames.

hmm ok, wonder if we can get paul to add that.. how hard would it be to show us the usernames of who their tracking for us? currently I'm having them all add me as a fan but eventually the ones I dont know personally will get lost within the rest of the fans.. I'd like to know who they are for alot of reasons.. any thoughts on this paul?
