As a lot of people here should know - I'm from the Heart of Africa, Nigeria, for all y'all who dont know. And I'm one of the very proud ones. I tell you, you're hardly find a Nigerian that's proud to be Nigerian that I am. No friggin' kidding! And you may also have noticed how I've laboured ceaselessly, quarried with the so called 'high and mighty' here on hubpages, because they clearly have a shitty impression about Nigeria. I dont blame it on anyone, though, not really. Except of course for the fact, that smart people ought to find things out for themselves. There is such a thing as 'bad press' - and to say that Nigeria has taken the worst blows of it all is a gross understatement. I blame CNN, I blame BBC.
Moving on, Just this morning I got the greatest reward I've ever received on hubpages - and it made my stay on hubpages worthwhile, since I've pretty much taken it for granted that I wont be getting rich from hubpages anytime soon. I woke up to find a comment left on one of my hubs (pardon me, here, dont mean to break any forum rule) on Nigerian Music Videos. A hubber had watched the nigerian music videos posted in it, and just as I had hoped, the music videos helped change her impressions about Nigeria. An impression that the press had long marred ceaselessly. I'm glad needless to say. This here leaves me fulfilled than nothing else ever could in hubpages. No one regards Nigerians anymore, anywhere. Nigeria - the Giant of the black race. The Heart of Africa.
It is a shame that people stereo type a particular, race for any reason, A few Scammers give Nigeria a bad name, same as a few families in Palermo give Sicily a bad name.
I have learnt and heard about Nigeria through Magazines, Newspaper and Electronic Media. From what they cover up, My impression on Nigeria is not too good. But would definitely like to learn more about Nigeria if you can publish some really useful information in form of Hubs.
Ray
I've published hubs on under Travel, Tourism in Nigeria. I've published a hub on The Nigeria Movie Industry. I've also published a hub on Nigerian Music Videos. Been working hard to change people's perception on Nigeria. If I succeed, then that's my Greatest Reward.
I don't have an impression on Nigeria. I have a friend from Nigeria. And, good to hear that.
I'm curious as to why you have Pamda Man as your profile name then.
For the nth time, you could learn a lot from my profile. Thanks.
Bet you felt bummed when you realized you spelt your name wrong, huh. Lol.
Oh, now you are trying to intimidate me, are you?
Okay, I've read as far as "I typed my name wrong".
You didn't realise that immediately after you tried to sign in? You didn't feel the urge to register a new profile?
Am I allowed to ask that? Or will you feel intimidated?
Yea, it's better than the old one. Human torch...
You should read poems by Langston Hughes. I based my poem The Panda Speaks of Rivers on one of his poems.
OK, CJ, you got me fair and square. My wife and I've seen quite a few of the Nigerian scams in the mail, and her stepdad actually sucked himself into one despite our warnings. But he's not a nice fellow, so it served him right.
I've never stereotyped Nigeria because of that, and I've never been stereotyped myself--well, unless you count the folks who get their hackles up when I tell 'em I'm a life member of the National Rifle Association and like firearms, stuff like that. So I won't pretend to know what it's like.
But I will hop out of the Forums for a bit and actually go read a few of your Hubs. Can't play the music right now; wife is sleeping about 8 feet away and I don't dare disturb her rest, but other than that....
FieryCJ,
It was a beautiful to read what you wrote first thing this morning. It is not too often that we hear or read about true gratitude. I have many friends and many of them are from around the world, including a wonderful man from Nigeria. He has a heart of gold and never hesitates to give of himself. He sets an example that many follow, including me.
Have a wonderful weekend!
This cracks me up. I don't know how "Panda Man" can stand just leaving a typo and going with it. Especially one that involves the third letter he must have entered on HubPages. Oh well, guess everyone isn't a perfectionist - but it's been driving me crazy to see the whole "Pamda/Panda" thing. (Pamda, for the few Hubs you have, you may want to consider transferring them to an account that doesn't have a misspelling in the name.)

I just got an email from Mrs Carman LaPoint, of the United Nations. Because so many people from Europe, Asia, Oceania, Antartica and the US have been scammed from Nigeria and Britain, those two countries have agreed to compensation of $100 million to me. After taxes and bank charges I...

So what's happening here?I'm guessing that various web publishers have suddenly realized how much money is to be made through writers. Make no mistake, they wouldn't be putting up these websites or offereing money (and when people are offering $25,000 prizes), there's money in it for them.I also...

I check out many of the new hubs as they come across my Home page. I'm interested to see how many people use their own original work, how many correctly use and credit public domain photos, and how many are outright stealing photos from the Internet. When someone posts a professional looking photo...

Even taking into account Hubpages' share, with the amount of ads, shouldn't it be a multiple of views? I reckon, there should be about 6 impressions per article, but instead, there's only about .5 on average.

Hello again! So looking at my Adsense Overview, I see a particular number of pageviews that doesn't seem to correspond to the page visits in Hubpages I have for the corresponding day. I currently only have Hubpages as my active Adsense account. An example is (not my real numbers)total impressions...
