What do I call someone from Chennai?! A Chennaian or a Chennaiite.
Previously it was easier!! smile you know what I mean.
I will be in Chennai on the second week of Feb. Would like to meet my fellow Hubbers from the good old Madirasi.
    Warm Regards

Chennaiite is the appropriate word I guess.

I guess Chennaiite is most appropriate as I have few friends who have come from Chennai and work with me at our office. But, tamil people hated the word 'Madarasi'. So, dont ever use that again.

I am afraid , both aren't liked by the residents of Chennai. It is better if you simply call Sir, or madam. depending on the context.Generally. people of Tamilnad are proud of their heritege. If you speak good about that, you will  be treated warmly.
By the bye, Why can'tyou visit Bangalore also the? It is just six hours journey by train. We four hubbers are there feeling happy to meet you.
