I still consider myself fairly new to HubPages, so I'm no expert, but I've noticed a flood of "how tos" on writing HubPages by new hubbers.
I don't mean this to be critical, some are well written, but Is this something that's fairly typical, everyone's an expert 15 minutes after they join? Has it always been this way?
I've been here 6 weeks, so my "how to" is long over due.
I think that if a 'how-to' guide to Hubpages is written by a new hubber, I'm going to take it with a grain of salt, but also may read through it to see if it has any new content. I believe darkside writes some awesome hubs about how to work things on the site:
All of these hubs are VERY good reads, and highly suggested reading for brand new hubbers, in my not-so-humble opinion.
I'm with you Peter. And at the risk of starting another argument, it's a little difficult to swallow.
gamergirl is quite right, darkside's how to hubs are excellent.
Absolutely. I fully appreciate the "how tos" by everyone who has been around for a while. I read Darkside's hubs very early on, and they are great. I would recommend them to anyone who is new.
I was just having a little fun at our (the newbies) expense since WE know it all.
I had waited until I was here 16 minutes before I started writing them.
But seriously, I know what you mean. It will either be full of errors because they haven't properly experimented and experienced the system that they're trying to explain, or it'll just be a rehash of someone elses work.
I see the same thing all the time with Adsense. I am a moderator at an Adsense chat forum and quite often the new people asking questions, like "I'm not making any money from Adsense" are talking about their sites which, surprise surprise, are all about "making money with Adsense!".
Oh stop braggin because you're apparently a Hubbing genius. ;-) Just kidding.. Brag away. ;-)
They are good 'How To's' though. I too, have checked them out.
I'm two months away from becoming a Hubbing Genius
And then there's the Guru title.
Which should only ever be worn by people who are actually making a living from whatever they're 'guruing'.
Though I have made enough money from HubPages to last me the rest of my life.
Provided I'm dead before this weekend starts.
You're very welcome, WriterGig! There are quite a few amazing writers here on Hubpages. I feel lucky to have so many capable authors around me.
It is kind of like being the average looking girl at a party with a bunch of bikini models.
Which now makes me wonder what size bikinis jimmy, Mark, Misha and Paul would wear.. HAHA
WriterGig, definitely give us an update after you've soaked up the lovely knowledge darkside has set out. If you have any questions, post 'em on the board and I'm sure folks who have been here longer than I have will answer 'em pretty swiftly.

Now, I'm not asking which have helped you the most, but rather, which hubbers do you believe have had the most influence on you here - good, bad, or otherwise.
