I was away for the whole of August and ever since I've been back I've just had no inspiration or motivation to write anything at all, even about my travels.I don't know how to get myself back into writing.

    Anyone have any thoughts?

maybe go to a park or someplace beautiful and take a journal along and start writing. it takes some discipline too, tell yourself I will write for a certain amount of time and see what happens. smile

I'm sure you have a lot to share!

Start by opening your word processor and start typing.  Whatever is in your mind, let it come out; a story will come, they always do.

Go to the ideabank in your account and select a topic.

Go through the forum threads to find a topic of interest to write about.  Whatever your motivation ends up being, Good Luck.

It seems that nothing appeals to you enough for you to write about. This happens to everyone, and I myself was a victim of the terrible  "writers block" just last week. But you know, as my English teacher said several years ago, you always have something to write about. Even if you don't have an idea, just write about you (or someone else) not having an idea and what they do about it. Poof! Presto, you have just written something! Along the way, I grantee that your imagination will take flight along the way and turn your boring and simple something into a nice and full something. It may be hard to understand, but go on. Give it a whirl. I really hope it works out for you!

Do a handstand for ten minutes against a wall and let the blood rush to your head and then slap yourself in the face...works for me everytime for new ideas, it helps me focus and wakes me up, although for others it may not work, so I'll shut up!!

I took a quick glance at your hubs and they look great.  Better start writing again.

So I've finally started to think about things I can write. Partly because I really need to make some money, partly because I'm bored. And I've remembered that my word processor isnt working. I need to get an update and I reckon its going to be at least a week before I can get a new version of Word installed! My parents helpfully lost the disc we had! I hope I'm suitably motivated by the time I'm up and typing again.

Don't let that stop you! Here is a free software word processor suite comparable to Microsoft Office (sans Outlook): http://www.openoffice.org/

But you know what I do when I don't really feel like writing anything particular? I break out the old fashioned notebook and pen. It allows me to doodle as I try to draw the words out and I find that it jump starts my creative juices more readily than staring at a computer screen.

In all honesty, though, it really seems like you are looking for excuses and maybe reaching for a little reassurance. So, here it is, you can do it!

Welcome home! How was the trip? Venezuela, right? Can't wait to read all of the hubs you're going to write about it! smile (hint, hint)

The trip was amazing thanx. I will write about it at some point, I just don't really know what to say. I'm thinking about doing the 30Hubs in 30days challenge, so I'm sure I'll be able to write a few about Venezuela.

Venezuela would be a great article!  I would start writing too with pen & paper.  I do it often at night when I can't sleep.

Go to a newsagents, newsstand or whatever you call it, and browse the covers of magazines that interests you.

See a headline that catches your attention? Commit it to memory, go home, and use that same headline to write your own article. You won't have to know what they've put in their own article, just write from what you know and put your own unique spin on it.
