Sunforged, thanks for the detailed answer! This really helps.

I will check out the link to lissie's article, too.

It's good to know that the reddit traffic was bound to generate no income. In that sense, maybe I should just consider that I haven't really reached the 100,000 mark yet, as that whole two day episode was something of a fluke.

I don't feel like changing the title of "Bow and Literacy" but maybe I could write a different hub with a more commercial title and link to that one!

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to explain all this! It really does help.

Its a lot of info to absorb.

I bet you have tons of readers who followed your writing and know exactly who "Bow" is, but I wouldnt call it commercial to use a term that merely helps someone find you, your currently mis shelved in the library in the archery section!

I picked that one out of "Best" hubs, with 111 comments! its probably performing well, and people probably naturally promote it.. no real need to change, just using it as an example but something like:

    Chimpanzee Literacy: Bow learns Hebrew

would help people find it and give you a higher paying keyword

I checked into natural promotion - over 150 locations outside of hubpages have linked to your article - that is teh definition of why people should write quality content, Congratulations!

hmm..most of the links are coming from one source(although a lot are from relavant sites) any idea what:

    http://www.megite.com/discover/:hubpages_com..... refers to?

Sunforged, thanks for drawing my attention to that site. I'd never heard of it before. I followed the link you gave, and as near as I can tell, it seems to randomly choose pages, if you provide it with a general address!

I'm a little slow here and missed this thread, but wanted to say congratulations on the 100,000.

Also I'ved found that both relache and Sunforged give real good advice.  I make more as an indirect result of hubpages than I actually do with google adsense, etc. But the checks are regular now from them.

I look at my hubs as like a portfolio of a body of work to show.  Correct tags and correct titles do count.  It's a constant learning process I think.
