I heard that it was possible to get on the first page of Google organic search with a Hub page, and I was skeptical, but I thought it couldn't hurt to try.

Made my first Hub page yesterday, and today it has been indexed and comes up on the first page of Google results for "Business Ideas For Kids"!

I guess those rumours are true, after all - HubPages is a very good platform for publishing content.

It's certainly incentive to create more Hubs!

Great work, you guys who put it all together. Thanks.

When we set up our sites we are taught the number one rule is build links. Hubpages has a lot of links with good page rank. Search engines love this stuff and rewards a hub by indexing it quite quickly. That proves the link theory.

Knowing this now means we need a nice niche site. I see your hub is now position 11 out of 7.8 million pages.

Well done. Always have a small link to your website to give that little bot somewhere else to go when it finishes with your hub, it might give you some more link love and improve your own sites position.wink

    Thanks!

I noticed it fell off the first page of results almost immediately! sad

Any suggestions on how to lift it up a position or three on Google, anyone?

So, Terry, do you have a niche site?

Bookmark it at social bookmarking sites (digg, stumbleupon etc)...that will do the trick.

Its been discussed previously - basically initially your new hub is seen as news & ranks high.  To rank high in google is an art/science but back links seem to be the key!

Oh Inspirepub I like the cut of your jib. I thought I had the perfect niche site and put a lot of work into it. Apparently it was too good as my visitors stay for long times and read all the pages. When they leave they just close out and not exit where they are supposed to.

I am still looking, I thought long distance relationships might be a thought though!winkwink
