Know what I do when I want to raise hits to my articles or hubs. I start fights on the forums. Manipulative, you bet! How many times have I took a verbal lashing from both sides for traffic? I know people may think this is shallow and petty and ask what's more important fans or beliefs? Well given that this is a writing sight, I'll have to go with traffic. I came here to be read what is your agenda, honestly? So If I offend you don't be mad or take it personally, because I don't and honestly half the time I really just don't care what is said, how about you?

  The only problem with this is how likely are people going to be to click an ad or buy something from ebay or Amazon if they are in some way upset with you?

  If I live my life in fear of those who disagree with me I wouldn't have even joined this site. There are loads of people reading these forum posts that don't comment. But they do read hubs and talk to people about it. You have to stay in mind of the big picture. Ad clicks are about sales and sales need traffic and traffic comes from notoriety and press. Once again, I ask are you here to make sales or convert the masses?

  The art is in getting someone else to start the fight for you then just fan the flames and watch it burn. People look for reasons to express their belief, after-all we are all our own favorite topics. All it takes is a snowflake to start an avalanche.

  I like to think I'm on my own side I started a new movement a few days back called Fluidism. The ability to adapt and dismount any belief system that is pointless and stagnant, and ride any system conducive to growth and progress.

  Sadly - that does not include a belief in a god. This is the ultimate pointless and stagnant belief system, because it is not possible to adapt or dismount without causing strife and conflict.

  When it comes to religion....no you can not, because of the detriment it can do to your life.
  
  Religion is an infectious disease, created by man, because those in power believe people can not lead themselves.
  
  This 'god' concept isn't healthy for your life and shouldn't be engaged in any manner. It plays with the foundation of how to live life via reality.
  
  Just in case- Yes, reality. Reality exists free of independent thought, desires, will, or wishes. Reality is all knowable.
  
  The 'god' concept forces you to leave reality for meaning to life, when you can get it in reality, if you only looked.
  
  I'm not directly attacking you, it's religion I detest.
  
  So, with that said- Do you believe in a higher being, god or whatever?
  
  Yes or No.

  I believe in a higher existence, being is to constrictive a term and idea. It denotes humanity trying to force itself on something bigger and more varied then they are.
  
  The very concept of a yes or no question is tailored to fit in a world of absolutes and conditions, devoid of opinion or interpretation.
  
  All belief is a matter of perspective and thought, to he that perceives something to be true reality will be shaped to reflect that belief as ultimately we create reality. There is no yes or no, only new avenues for discovery and exploration. This might at first be seen as a philosophical stance but in actuality is a basic tenant of life. Everything changes.

  Only one problem with this- a belief is not a matter of perspective and thought. A belief is formed based on knowledge and understanding of life. If you have little of both, then you end up with irrational, nonsensical beliefs, which lead to irresponsible behavior. And, that leads to irresponsibility of oneself, for not understanding life.
  
  Reality exists freely of independent thought, desires, will, or wishes. Reality is all knowable.
  
  Example: cure for cancer isn't real yet. Therefore it is not in reality. Yet, the second a cure is found- now it becomes part of reality, because it exists.
  
  Reality at the point will change and a new reality will be maintained.
  
  You form a belief on a 'god', for whatever reason- you can never believe in it 100% completely, because nature of man and woman says you can not back it up, because it's outside reality.
  
  Even your inner-core(subconscious) won't believe in a 'god' 100%, because it knows it's not in your nature to believe anything other than something that is real can exist. It is hope that drives the band-wagon.
  
  But, in the end- your belief is based on what knowledge you have and how well you understand what you know(wisdom). To form a belief in any other manner is irrational.

  I cannot see anything detrimental in what Scott said. Paradoxically Cagsil, when one is close to the inner core of their existence, God is an irrelevant principle, as your state of consciousness has no need to separate 'God' from yourself. Belief seems to be a word used in order to get someone else to believe your own experiences. It is the lower mind that has trouble with doubt.

I do the same thing. I'll get into a conversation with someone of a dissenting opinion. It instantly brings traffic, because people are always curious to see where each person stands, so they will check out your hub and others you have written.

You must know how you are paid. Traffic is key.

I don't come here for traffic ,as I'm not here for the money. I don't even have adsense or whatever account

My account that has more traffic is another, which has never been in the forum.
I don't think posting here is a guarantee you'll be read.
If your hubs are no good, nobody is going to read them.

  Yup, gotta agree there. I started writing here on Hubpages because friends on my facebook page said I should start writing because of the comments I make on my photos. So, I googled Blogs and got here. I write because I like to. If I can reach someone or make someone smile when they've had a crappy day.....it's all good. My style is comedic, which is good for my mood as well. Being able to look at a situation and make it funny has made me a happier person. Money, I make enough at my day job

I think its time for God to sit a few rounds out and let man clean up his own mess. After all no one on either side seems to be interested in really listening to what he says. Maybe its time for all of us to stand up as grown ups and start taking some responsibility for our own lives and disasters for awhile.

  I think we should blame Muslims, Liberals, Atheists, and Everyone born after 1986 for all of our problems in America. Then when we get rid of them that will leave the Christians, conservatives and religionists without help or compassion and we can get rid of them too, then finally It will be down to the big G O D himself who personally wrecks everyone's lives and torments them to test their faith. After all these problems are Gods doing not like we humans ever had a choice in the matter over the last 5000 years.

The first sentence of this thread cracked me up. It wasn't what I was expecting before clicking in - and the blunt honesty (if, in fact, it was honesty - because we never know..) was refreshing. It's never occurred to me to fan flames on purpose. When I'm on here I have only the truest and best intentions, and when I've fanned any flames it's usually been by accident. My dumbness, apparently is that I then leave and find a thread that's lighter.

Does what you say here mean that the ever-increasing onslaught of religious threads (not necessarily by you) are nothing more than clever people trying to get traffic - and not that the HubPages population is made up of mostly religious wackos and their equally unreasonable and fervent opposition? Whew - that restores some of my faith in both HubPages and mankind. (I think I may need to go think up a religious thread to post.....)

  A better question would be what makes you feel entitled to decide if I am or not? Do you really feel that the things I may say or do on this site and who I stand up for are not carefully measured and planned. I do many things knowing full well that alot of people will have a problem with it. Things I do fly in the face of traditional religion and dogma. They raise questions about intent and reason.
  
  The heart of the issue is what is Christianity? You see I don't really "Think" I'm anything, I know what I believe about life and what I am willing to take a stance for. I really don't call myself anything.
  
  More then that though your question is a trap that will soon be followed by do I believe in the Bible, is scripture literal, and on and on. I don't say these things to dance around your question Sooner, because I know you want an answer. But you're not going to get one that will satisfy you because everything about what I believe you will not agree with or understand. That's just based off of our many conversations. You and I are so far apart in belief its like there's a canyon between us.
  
  The only question you really need to focus on is why do you need to know, and what do you believe that's really all that matters, Your personal relationship with God.

I would defend your right to believe as you wish, and I have defended you before just as I do Atheists and non-believers, but again you perceive only one side of the coin. Your beliefs Sooner don't really matter to me or affect my relationship with who or what I believe in, and despite whatever you may say about your beliefs I look to your actions towards others to decided how I feel about you as a person. There will be one judge for us all according to our beliefs. In the meantime I don't feel the need to decide what to call how I feel.

Do you annoy the hell out of me? Yep. Do I think you'll go to hell for it, couldn't say, you've done nothing to me that I haven't allowed you to our instigated so why should I care?

  You are assuming I have not read it. I have.
  There are plenty of children in every state who face this.
  
  Including my daughter and my niece. Both are dead.
  
  You should be careful about pressuring people by playing on their emotions, especially when children are involved.
  
  Although I do understand that the concern is genuine on your part. As long as you understand that it is a subject that should be approached more carefully.
  
  So while I am wishing the best, maybe you see now why I have not posted there.

  I certainly do, and you have my deepest condolences, but you are the one that responded in the "pick a fight thread." When it was directed at all, in so your response indicated non caring, not something that would be expected from someone with your experiences.

I do understand, and I am sorry for your loss. I apologize if I of ready have offended you in any way... we are only trying to spread awareness for the one (or in my case two) children we know about.

  I see now that you were not being confrontational.
  
  Like I said, It is my problem to deal with, not yours. I understand that.
  It is a very sensitive subject. Not all people who avoid it are cold-hearted, some just can't deal with it. This is what I meant when I said you should be careful about pressuring people with emotions, which is what I thought you were doing.

  I finished my hub. I finally prepared enough to get it finished. It took about three weeks and I'm most likely to build off it, because I'm going to simply display all my research, so people can finally realize the truth.
  
  I'm extremely angry because what I found out, through my research and it's horrible, to think that society is of such low self-esteem as a whole.
  
  It's ridiculous when you see how many people are being irresponsible about their life.
  
  From a creative point- it gives you a lot to talk about.

  OK! Here is something to fight about then.
  I think vinyl is better. In terms of audio quality. Until they get scratched up that is.
  
  Yeah, it is hard to play them in your car.
  But, the cover art is so much better!
