It seems that getting to the first page of search engine result page is not that hard. However, staying there is extremely difficult.
Sometimes, I am very happy to see an article reaching the first page of search result, even though it's not in the top 3. The next day, that miserable article is sitting on page 20.
How to get to the first page and stay there?

your initial high ranking is because google is treating you as fresh new news...than you are reindexed and sent to a more appropriate location in the serps
